The Providence student Union has an online petition to move to pass/fail grades this semester.

This is great news! Funding will improve data systems related to equity including school climate outcomes & identifying patterns around inequitable student access to resources, interventions & will provide evidence-based guidance for school leaders. Congrats @RIDeptEd!

Why not wait another week, at least get messaging/communications right, let the teachers & administrators communicate w/parents, let teachers figure out how to switch to online learning, etc.?

Families can help us by maintaining a school-day routine with your child. School runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a two-hour break for lunch from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
