The media has normalized it. You don't get to spend two years mainstreaming the idea that Jews and their state have no right to exist and then act shocked when someone takes the message literally. Words have consequences. "From the river to the sea" isn't poetry. "Globalize the intifada" isn't a metaphor. When you spend years telling the world that Jewish presence in the Middle East or in Golders Green is a problem to be solved, don't be surprised when someone shows up with a knife to solve it. The ideology and the blade are the same weapon. One just has a longer handle.

The status quo will also become permanent in Lebanon. Hezbollah will never disarm. Half a million Lebanese will remain displaced. Unlike in the past, neither Hamas will be able to exert pressure on Israel through suicide bombings and attacks on civilians nor Hezbollah will be able to kill Israelis across the border. We're likely heading into an ice age that what you see now is what you will see for a very long time, at least until the Lebanese and the Palestinians figure out how to govern themselves.

America is a great power because of both - people, both native and immigrant, work hard and have the freedom to create and become billionaires. Entrepreneurism permeates the culture. It is also a petrodollar based empire. Russia would (and does) kill to steal this position, but its been nothing but a failure, for many reasons.

One very important thing Americans don't realize is that they're not the richest country in the world because they work hard and come up with genius ideas. It's because they're the world's leading empire with the dominance of the dollar in the global financial system. Take that out of the equation and America is just one more regional power with a bloated military it can't sustain and bankrupt with debt.

That's why the government of Lebanon has refused to put up a fight in Southern Lebanon where Israel is occupying and seizing territories. Quran has both positive and negative verses about Jews and the Israelites. A couple positive ones: Quran 2:62 - Believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabians, anyone who truly believes in God and the Last Day and does good deeds, will have their reward with their Lord, with no fear or grief. And on Israelites: Quran 17:104 - After him, We said to the Children of Israel, Inhabit the land, and when the promise of the Hereafter arrives, We will bring you all together. And "the land" is, by the way, Eretz Yisrael. Like every scripture, Islamic text has everything. It depends what you pick and how you interpret it.
