Ten years ago, I landed in San Francisco as a 20-year-old kid from IIT Bombay, headed to Palo Alto to intern at @rubrikInc's Software Engineering Team. I was earning $8,000 a month. It felt like a dream. My mentor was an @CSE_IITBombay senior, who made me fall in love with databases and scalable backend systems. The work was exciting. The culture was electric. Rubrik went on to go public. I was one of the early interns, in 2016, before any of that happened. But here is what that internship really gave me: Clarity. I realized I did not want to build my life in the Bay Area. I wanted to go back to India and build something of my own. Seeing the startup energy up close lit a fire in me that has never gone out. When I returned in July 2016, I made a decision. My fourth year of college was not going to be just about courses. It was going to be about learning how to build a company. Entrepreneurship courses, product thinking, sales, marketing. Engineering was never my constraint. Business-building became my obsession. "Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years." - Bill Gates That quote hits differently when you actually live it. When I look back at the last ten years, it feels surreal. From being an intern at Rubrik, to co-founding Cogno AI, bootstrapping it past $1 million in revenue, getting it successfully acquired, and then starting again from scratch. Today, at @GreyLabsAI, we have raised close to Rs. 100 crores from @z47_vc and @ElevCap. We are a team of 85+. We work with more than 75 large BFSI accounts across India. We have grown more than 3x year on year. None of this was obvious. None of it was guaranteed. But it all started with a summer in Palo Alto, a great mentor, and the courage to come back home and bet on myself. If you are an intern somewhere right now, pay attention to what excites you and what does not. That signal is worth more than the stipend. The next ten years are waiting.

The results of the recent state elections have been dramatic by any measure. But for me, this image will remain the most unforgettable outcome of the elections. More than 166,000 votes were cast between the two leading candidates in this constituency in Tamil Nadu. And history was changed by just one vote. This image should be shown in every school in the country & perhaps around the world. So that every child understands that when they grow up, the greatest power they may possess is the Power of One. Some political analysts are talking about DMK and ADMK joining together to form government. Numerically they may be able to do it. The government cannot last for 5 years due to long term traditional rivalry and acrimony. This would end up making Vijay Chief Minister for rest of his life. If Vijay is not able to provide good governance, he cannot get people's mandate next time. Why afraid to give opportunity to Vijay now based on people's mandate?

@arsh_goyal Data & AI Roles are in a boom in India right now. US Factor is a major push. and people are even getting 25-30LPA with just 3YoE

GenAI roles got him 100+ calls whereas SDE roles got him 2 out of 1000 applications. This guy is from a tier 2.5 college. Joined Wipro/TCS type company at 7.2 LPA. Worked for 2.5 years. Got a total increment of 40K. That's it. 40K in two and a half years. He got frustrated and resigned in Feb without any offer in hand especially with a 90 day notice period hanging over his head. His plan was simple to grind DSA, prepare system design and apply to SDE and Python dev roles. Target 20 LPA as CTC. He applied to nearly 1000 jobs on LinkedIn, Naukri, Instahyre, WhatsApp groups. Got exactly 2 interviews. Both went to final rounds. Both rejected. Neither of those interviews asked DSA or system design. They asked him to build and modify backend code in real time. Discuss actual issues he faced at work. He rewrote his CV, ditched the DSA prep, and started applying only to GenAI roles. Got 100+ calls. 40 interviews. 2 offers. Highest at 15 LPA as an AI Engineer in NCR. His takeaways were interesting too. Most GenAI interviews are just plain discussions about your past work. They ask about RAG pipelines, hallucination handling, latency, MCP, guardrails, AI testing, cost optimization. The market is telling us something very clearly right now. Traditional SDE hiring has slowed down massively. If you're someone sitting in a service company right now, good time to learn and move as you might land a good role now.
