@MartinWawrusch @ramit You can use HELOC, Portfolio LOC and numerous other lending products that’s not available to us plebs. Sure 12m doesn’t mean they have cold hard 12m accessible to use but they can get couple of millions in short amount of time

@ramit House 'wealth' is more of a liability than anything else, so depending on how much of their networth is the house they are about right

I asked a couple their net worth: Julie: "If you include our primary residence, it's in the ballpark of 12 million." Ramit: "Have you ever said that number out loud?" Julie: "No, it makes me really uncomfortable." Ramit: "How would you describe yourself socio-economically?" Julie: "Upper middle class." Tom: "Take out the upper part and you're right." At $12 million, she describes them as "upper middle class." He thinks they're "middle class." Why do you think wealthy people find it so difficult to describe themselves as wealthy?

@pravesdal I love $TSLA but it's not a sure thing like the others. It's not exactly speculative either but the valuation at some point has to match the earnings

Got my hands on the $SCHD reconstitution results through a foreign ETF that also tracks the Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100. Official results from Schwab won’t be out until Monday morning. Debating whether to share what I’m seeing early… or wait for the official release. What would you do?

Man, I felt this video so hard. It feels like all of us (devs) that are using AI are trying to tiptoe around these feelings, or hang onto "but I use it correctly! i review the code!", idk, I think the drug analogy is apt. Once you have the button, it feels impossible to not use the button. On the one hand, there is something so tempting about throwing it all away and going back to life as it was before all of this. Even a little part of me that hopes it's all unsustainable and crumbles down around me so I don't have to make the impossible decision. On the other hand, I've spent most of my career unable to sleep at night because I couldn't wait to wake up and implement the solution that came to me before bed. I don't have that problem anymore, I sleep like a baby, and I'm only now realizing it's because there's no mystery anymore, no burning desire to wake up and shape the world. I just put the prompts in, and that doesn't get me out of bed. Rock and a hard place for sure. Anyway, use OpenCode, our new subscription (Go) is the best way to buy your drugs I mean tokens! 🥲

Pedro Arnt brought strict capital discipline from his leadership days at $MELI over to $DLO. Most tech companies pay sales teams a flat commission on the revenue they generate. This makes sales reps chase easy, low value clients instead of hard strategic targets. dLocal changed the game by replacing standard commissions with a strict bounty system. A rep gets a massive payout for landing a major target like Netflix. They get a tiny payout for an easy, low tier merchant. For everyone else in the company, there are no short-term bonuses at all. Employees get a strong base salary and stock that takes five years to vest. This forces the entire team to focus on long-term shareholder growth.

@OneMoreIfIMay @joecarlsonshow Because of price, 82B became 110B. That’s 35% premium to initially agreed price. You can look at $DIS acquisition of $FOX as an example. Initial 80B became 120B because of bidding war and shareholders paid for that with a decade of flat stock.

@joecarlsonshow Hmm early on you wanted Netflix to own the bid so bad tho focusing on the suite of content. Why the change?

If you really think about what Netflix did. They turned down the opportunity to own HBO, to own Warner Bros. To go to red carpet events and have everyone know they own it all. Think about the self-importance you’d feel owning all that. They turned it down because they thought it wasn’t in the best interest of the shareholders. This is the exact type of management you want. Total discipline and prioritizing shareholders over self-aggrandizement.
