@TheRealBuzz He also has a watch with two faces on one band, but y'all aren't ready to talk about that...(2/2)

English

@TheRealBuzz You're likely wondering about the watches. It's about redundancy and certainty. From his website:
“See you need an odd number (of watches) in case there is a discrepancy so you can sort out which one is what,” Aldrin explains. (1/2)

@PWiejski @BrankoMilan 🔼90% of inheritance claims are filed within 6 months of death, but there is a relatively consistent stream of claims during that time. See the graph below.
A vertical strip represents the inheritance claims made for deaths occurring on one day.

English

@BrankoMilan If it's based on inheritance claims registry then it probably takes some time (months) for the data to be complete - it takes time to do all the paperwork after someone dies.

Deaths for nothingness.
But how are the most recent male deaths below the medium-term average?
Konstantin Sonin@k_sonin
A statistical/archival investigation by @meduzaproject estimates the number of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine close to 50,000: meduza.io/en/feature/202…. The study leverages the inheritance claims registry and mortality trends to estimate excess mortality for men.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.
ALL ROAD USERS.
And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them.

Short trips tell you where people are already connected with a neighborhood.
Improving access to these zones for cyclists, pedestrians, and public transportation makes for better spaces for all residents and visitors.
Sara Stace@sara_stace
Chris Bruntlett @modacitylife who showed how Austin, Texas 🇺🇸 is on a similar journey with 3 key factors for cycling investment: 1. Invest where the short trips are 2. Use cycling to feed transit 3. Plan for all modes

What change could we make to @OurWorldInData that would make you think "Oh yes! Finally!" ?
Could be a new feature, new data, a new topic, a change to the structure, or anything else — whatever we can do to make you happy.

@MaxCRoser @OurWorldInData And the development and growth of cities are connected to governance structures. Which feedback into social equity and all the other issues we've discussed.
Seeing this interconnectedness visualized would be useful as an organizational device. (2/2)
English

@MaxCRoser @OurWorldInData I'd enjoy more Systems diagrams to visualize how topics you cover are connected.
For example, Urbanization involves demographic trends that connect to economic opportunities and development. That development impacts environmental factors and health outcomes. (1/2)
