Friends does anyone have any advice for new stuff to listen to? It has to have lyrics with meaning and to be tuneful. I'm stuck with my old friends the Eagles, Paul Carrack, Queen etc. Proper songs from people who are pleasant to listen to.
@previe@denbypottery I've ordered one too, along with some other lovely items and additions to my halo speckle service. Their breadbin and storage jars are lovely too, with super capacity.
@LilyGoddess122@denbypottery I’ve used the same Denby mug at work every day for 20 odd years. It belonged to a colleague who left the firm and I promised to look after it until he came back. I’m still waiting.
Consultant Cardiologist Dr Dean Patterson, the Guernsey doctor who called for an investigation into the safety of COVID-19 vaccines after seeing a spike in myocarditis cases on the island, has been sacked. dailysceptic.org/2026/03/27/gue…
@DavidPiesing63@jameswpen Agreed - all good reasons.
If you asked people why they aren’t booking there would be a myriad of valid reasons and ´war and global instability’ is extremely unlikely to be their concern. The suggestion makes islanders look like anxious halfwits.
But is it? Over the last month most of the forward flights that I’ve been forward booking (admittedly all to Gatwick) are lower than last year, which seems more likely to be attributable to the impact of Heathrow competition? “Unreliable spring fog” happens pretty much every year in my recollection (and once it’s gone it shouldn’t be affecting May/June bookings)?
@DavidPiesing63@jameswpen It’s not about me, or you.
I’m pointing out the daft byline. There are other reasons for a decline in demand and the Iran war/global instability isn’t stopping people *wanting* to travel. It is much more likely price increases and unreliable spring travel e.g. fog.
Really? That’s a wild overstatement. I travel a lot and don’t generally experience many scenarios other than weather delays. Occasional tech problems but usually solved fairly quickly. And I’ve lost count of the times that I’ve got back to the island very late at night when other airlines would have given up the ghost hours earlier.
