So, I don't go out in public much, and I don't have kids, but if there's any LGBTQ folks who need a non-judgy auntie for hugs and encouragement, well, welcome to the family my new niece/nephew. #Pride #PrideMonth #loveislove #AuntieJ

My former colleague from Wisconsin, @RepRibble, co-wrote an excellent op-ed on the dangers of the SAVE Act. Reid is a Republican, and even he agrees this bill goes too far. It's already illegal for non-citizens to vote. The SAVE Act would instead make it harder for eligible Americans to register and vote, especially women whose current legal name does not match their birth certificate. time.com/article/2026/0…

Murder was already illegal. Yet Congress made 'lynching' illegal in a fit of virtue signalling. Various forms of assault were already illegal but Congress made some of it more illegal with "Hate Crime" laws. More virtue signaling. You oppose this, you approve of cheating. Period

The rule change here is a single word doing the work of fifty years of law. For half a century, harming a protected species meant destroying the place it lives, upheld by the Supreme Court in 1995 in a six justice ruling that stated the obvious, that an animal without a home is an animal without a future. Friday's rule rewrites harm to mean only direct physical injury, which means a company can legally drain the pond a salamander needs, or cut down every mature pine tree a woodpecker family depends on to nest, as long as no individual animal gets crushed in the process. Roughly two hundred twenty thousand people submitted public comments on this proposal. Ninety nine percent opposed it. That included wildlife agencies in Republican governed states, North Dakota's game and fish division warning of dire consequences, Georgia's own wildlife resources director naming habitat loss as the single greatest threat to species survival in his state. This wasn't a partisan objection. It was the people whose actual job is species conservation, in red and blue states alike, telling the administration the same thing before it acted anyway. Interior Secretary Burgum called the old rule a regulatory trap that expanded federal authority beyond what Congress intended. Legal scholars point out the administration did this without conducting the scientific research that normally precedes a change of this scale. When you rewrite the definition of harm without studying what harm actually does, you're not restoring original intent. You're making sure the word means less than what the animals actually need it to mean.

Trump is trying to gut the Endangered Species Act. This is a big deal, and he must be stopped. For half a century, harming a protected animal meant you couldn’t destroy the place it lives. The Supreme Court backed that up in 1995. Six justices said the obvious thing, that if you wipe out an animal’s home, you wipe out the animal. Trump wants to throw this out so his friends can pave over the last nesting ground of a vanishing species and call it legal, as long as they don’t personally kill the animal. Starve it, drill it, mine it. Go right ahead. It’s a permission slip for oil and mining companies to speed up extinction, and habitat loss is already the number one reason species disappear. This rule ignores the plain text of the law Congress wrote. The 1995 ruling is still on the books, and a rule this lawless is exactly what judges are there to strike down. Congress must act too. I’ll push for a vote to overturn this, and I’ll fight any spending bill that tries to lock these rollbacks in. And you have a role. Public comments already are hundreds of thousands strong against this. Keep the pressure on. nytimes.com/2026/07/10/cli…

This is not how it works. The War Powers Resolution doesn’t give the president a “free” 60 days—and the Constitution certainly doesn’t either. Regardless, we’re talking about a single war. You don’t get to pause it and then pretend it’s a different war.

NEW: President Trump formally notified lawmakers this weekend that the nation is once again at war with Iran, giving his administration another 60-day clock to use the military in the region without congressional approval. W/ @connorobrienNH @LeoShane politico.com/news/2026/07/1…

ICE is NOT law enforcement. It’s a rogue agency that believes it’s above the law—and we shouldn’t trust a word they say.

Until Trump, no president in US history: -Tried to unilaterally rewrite federal election rules -Tried use the USPS to limit who gets to vote -Spread false claims that elections are rigged -Replaced officials who didn't back their conspiracy theories This is a systematic effort.

He pressured a secretary of state to find exactly enough votes to flip a state he lost. That is not a complaint about an election. That is a recorded attempt to steal one. The tape exists.
