@bkj741 @twostraws @anumness It can be explained in the lower levels as well: the very definition of division is creating groups. i.e. 8/4 means 8 divided into 4 groups. Now ask the kids, how can you divide something into 0 groups?

@twostraws @anumness You explain it very well. A third grader good with math could probably understand it. But at an early age tell them the truth: it cannot be done - you will learn why later in a higher math class. I'm pretty sure that’s about exactly what my teacher said when I asked why.
