@OffgridIreland @Aldi_Ireland @lidl_ireland The value of the euro is different in every country using it , because of local taxation, it's why things are cheaper on mainland Europe. The large companies know you can charge to the market you are in , basic 101. Things are expensive here, and the discounters know.

‼️ The Irish Government is CRUSHING hardworking families with their DISASTROUS economic policies and total incompetence on inflation! Families are now shelling out a whopping €2,100 MORE annually on groceries than back in 2022 that's €41 extra per week just to feed your kids, thanks to spiraling costs that have 79% of us anxious about household expenses. And don't get me started on energy despite their phony credits totaling €1,500 over the years to mask the mess, average household electricity bills jumped from €1,674 in 2022 to €1,737 in 2025 (+€63), while gas bills rose from around €1,200 median in 2022 to €1,500 average in 2025 (+€300 roughly, based on 11,000 kWh usage and unit rates climbing 10% net). Total energy hit? About €200 more per year after their band-aid subsidies. Add it up €2,100 groceries + €200 energy = €2,300 extra sucked out of your pocket yearly due to this inflation nightmare. Average Irish worker earns €53,000 annually do the math: €2,300 / €53,000 = 4.3% haircut to your purchasing power, meaning you're effectively earning 4.3% LESS in real terms than 3 years ago. Logic is straightforward these price hikes outpace wage growth, eroding what you can actually buy after taxes and bills. Data from HelloFresh research on groceries, SEAI on energy prices/credits, Money Guide Ireland on bill trends, CSO on salaries. This is THEFT by government failure time to hold these elites accountable!

@OffgridIreland That’s all the family fun taken away from Irish taxpayers because we have to bring in further taxes and bills to the government so they can pay for all the gimmigrants No more theater, movies, hot chocolate or nice weekend dinners, nor vacations - government stealing our fun!

@campbellclaret We have grown more than Germany and France since Brexit - how is that possible if we are in a decline because of it?

Farage's assertion that the implementation of Brexit was executed poorly aligns with widely held views among many experts and a significant portion of the public who feel that the promised benefits have not materialised due to the way Brexit was delivered. Which brings me back to a point I have made in other threads... if we had all pulled together after the referendum, instead of being stymied by politicians and commentors like Dominic Grieve, Alistair Campbell, and a whole parliament and civil service who were hard core remainers, we would have been officially out of the EU long before the 30th January 2020 and years ahead of the process of putting the "Great" back into "Britain" again.

Recently Tánaiste and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris has said Ireland's asylum seeker system is not working and that the Government should reconsider existing policies "in a very serious way". In 2024 the people of NewtonMountKennedy asked the government to “reconsider” and they got beat and pepper sprayed. We haven’t forgot what happened.

There were 125,000 immigrants allowed into Ireland in 2023 and ALL were on social welfare with additional free housing etc. Per capita that is the same equivalent of 9 million illegal invaders being let into the USA in a year which has never happened… JD Vance is spot on
Mandy Gall@TheMandyGall

This is the exact same for Ireland...we were NEVER asked!! Now young Irish couples can't start families because they are competing with the entire world for a home...
