@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You're dancing on the head of a pin, and practicing a deceit whilst doing so. Ex ICJ President Joan Donoghue was at pains to explain that the court's ruling is being misreported. The ICJ did not decide that the legal allegation of genocide was plausible.

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You don’t understand difference of a factual allegation & the resulting legal allegation. Killing a race of people indiscriminately is genocide. The ICJ allowed the allegations to continue (despite Israel’s arguments) because the SPECIFIC allegations SA (if proven) = genocide.

Amnesty International say what is happening in Palestine is a genocide. The UN Special Rapporteur say it's a genocide. Countless genocide scholars say it's a genocide. How are we still doing this? And why is the BBC doing this? youtu.be/Es_wxH04bgs?si…

@JamesMelville If the IRA committed the equivalent of Oct 7 in the UK, they would have murdered about 10,000 people in one day and taken almost 2,000 hostages. For comparison, the IRA killed 125 people on the mainland between 1969 and 2001. Pipe down, you fool.

Parts of Gaza, Lebanon and Iran are being flattened. Thousands of innocent children have been killed. Millions of people displaced. And before anyone says “But, Hamas, Hezbollah”…Imagine if Britain had done the same to Ireland after the IRA bombings? You cannot justify this.

@BBCr4today This Tom Fletcher? He of the fictitious '14,000 dead babies in 48hrs' blood libel? He is a bald-faced liar whose word is utterly worthless. The fact that he's still got his $250k/yr job is testament to the systemic and institutional antisemitism that infects the UN.

@HarrisonHSmith The more that losers like you proclaim the 'end of Israel' while Israel continues taking care of business, the more pathetic and impotent you show yourselves to be.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You seem confused. The allegation before the ICJ is that Israel is violating the 1948 Genocide Convention. The ICJ has drawn no conclusions on the merits of the case and it certainly never said the allegation is 'plausible'. Thats it.

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski No, the allegations are about the killing (specifically the way it is occurring, and the intent behind it), the conclusion (according to the court) is that the allegations (if true) amount to genocide. It’s really not that confusing, you seem to not like this.

@ergo_praxis To claim that Islamist fascists are driven by "universal concern for all persons" is as risible as it is intellectually dishonest. Your thread of pretentious drivel represents the sort of post-modernist vacuousness that is the stock in trade of Palestinianism.

@ergo_praxis The irony of your thread is that you're just a racist as Ben Gvir and co, you just dress yourself in Kantian rhetoric. In your world no-one has any agency or malice but Israel. Never has a people been so denuded of agency as the Palestinians, and by their alleged supporters.

Israel is a mature fascist society in endpoint genocidal mania. There is nothing more to say about it. Its civil society has comprehensively failed, and can't maintain the charade of the rule of law. All that's left is international coercion, and hopefully we'll get there soon.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski That is just nonsensical. The allegation is genocide, so obviously if its 'proven' then its genocide. What you said originally was that the 'plausibility' related to the allegations. It doesn't. And you've accepted that you were wrong. Thanks and have a good day yourself.

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski For the 7000th time, nobody has said allegations prove anything. That’s what the trial is for. The point is, after looking at the allegations, the court thinks what has been alleged (if true) could be genocide. Now we wait for trial to prove those allegations. Have a good day!

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski Allegations prove nothing because anyone can allege anything. In this case, Iran has engineered SA to make a bad faith allegation of genocide. That those involved are now trying to broaden the definition of genocide shows the weakness of the case and their utter desperation.

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski No need to re-litigate the allegations. The case is already proceeding, meaning the allegations if proved= genocide. Israel can’t argue (like it attempted to do) that the allegations, even if proven, don’t amount to genocide. That is what the interviewers question was about.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You can re-litigate the allegations all you like and we could dispute them point by point. None of that changes where we came in, which is that the use of the word 'plausible' in this context has nothing to do with how 'true' (or otherwise) the allegation of genocide actually is.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski But the word 'plausible' is being presented by you and many others as relating to the facts of the case (i.e. the 'genocide' is a plausible one). That is at best erroneous and at worst, a downright lie. Worse still it is a despicable blood libel for the 21st century.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski So you concede that 'plausible' only relates to the right to be heard and not the actual allegations. Good. Anyone can allege anything. The case might yet go in Israel's favour. Also, if you think the ICJ is so susceptible to lobbying, who cares what it says?

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski I think the phrase “genocide was plausible” is heavy & some people don’t like it. So she clarifies the ruling says the right is plausible. Cool. But if the allegations (if true) didn’t amount to genocide (or violate another international treaty) the complaint would be dismissed.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski If what you say is true, why did the head of the court go to such pains to correct the record? Why does she state with absolute clarity that the ICJ hadn’t determined that the genocide was plausible?

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski SA now has to prove the allegations, and can use recorded statements like Israel’s Defense Minister saying he ordered a “complete siege of Gaza”, saying he “released all restraints” and that the entire nation, including civilians are “responsible” —> 25,700+ dead Palestinians.

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You've almost got it. You said "its plausible Palestine has a right to be free from those actions" Correct! ICJ said the rights are plausible, not the allegations. If I'm wrong, why is the the judge saying "it (the ICJ) didn’t decide that the claim of genocide was plausible."?

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski I have properly read, you just don’t understand. A plausibility determination is based on allegations. And the court looked at all those allegations and the statements from Israeli officials, and the court found its plausible Palestine has a right to be free from those actions

@FourtyFOURTY @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski You've not properly read what you've highlighted. 'South Africa believes', 'South Africa alleges'. Watch the video! The Head of the ICJ is clear. No determination of fact has been made, only one of rights. 'Plausible' here is a legalistic term. It doesn't relate to likelihood.

@prkyk71 @mkhalili @bbcnickrobinson @ZackPolanski Actually plausible is a stronger word than “possible.” Read Twombly and Iqbal. You’re backtracking, I highlighted where the court outlines factual allegations, says they can fall within genocide convention & says Palestinians plausibly have a right to be from those actions.

@jimma54 @jomickane Bullshit. The UK has sold Saudi £18bn in arms since 2015. In that time, they've created the worst humanitarian crisis this century in Yemen. 100,000s dead from conflict, malnutrition, and disease. No outrage, no marches. Just silence. Why? They can't blame Israel.

Genocide. Famine. Villages burned. More people died in Sudan in one week than in two years of the Gaza war - but no marches, no hashtags, no outrage. Because it doesn't fit the narrative. Because it's Africans killing Africans. Because truth doesn't trend. 🤬
