@Channel4News These comments tell you everything you need to know about this vile ‘Land of Hope and Glory’. It is really frightening just how fascist and barbaric many of those people are and are proud of showing themselves to be. No thought about the man as a human being whose life has been c

Tharel Thompson, a young man from Barbados was on holiday with family in the UK when he became the victim of a vicious attack. He was left with severe injuries and now needs 24 hour care and further surgery but as a foreign national he's not entitled to NHS treatment. According to his mother, who's in this country to care for him, he's not well enough to be moved back home to Barbados and the treatment he needs would not be available there anyway.

@CompositeGuy_ I rest my case. Sad that despite our experience since long before 1948, so many of us still crave being patted on the head and being made to listen to such cynical and vacuous crap.

1/ This is prime Windrush Creationism. The level of propaganda they have managed to fit into a single minute is quite remarkable. In this thread, I will break it down, line by line. 🧵
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

This government will never forget the legacy of the Windrush generation, who laid the foundations for modern Britain. It was an honour to thank them in person this week and celebrate the ongoing contribution of the Windrush generations.

Just got racially abused in front of my daughter at the Lido in London Fields (Hackney). Specifically told to: "fuck off you Black bastard". This followed an actual assault. Yes there were loads of shocked witnesses. Lido staff were great. Good afternoon modern Britain.

@S_Fleary1 Sheer beauty! Unmatchable artistry! But, OMG, our Sistrin and Bredrin don’t exactly look a picture of happiness. What would they have been like if they had not won. Anyways, I support weariness and jet lag couldn’t give a manicou about cameras… Huge congrats to them all!

@DavidLammy ‘Palestinians risk total annihilation as Israel’s final solution. Yet, Lammy feigns distress over imminent starvation. What morality or humanity is he expecting Israel to demonstrate after they have been facilitated to commit genocide by ‘defending their right to exist’?

For over 50 days, Israel has fully blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza. This is completely unacceptable. Vital supplies are running out and Palestinians risk facing starvation. With France and Germany, we urge Israel to immediately restart the flow of aid. gov.uk/government/new…

@english_shamar @Phil_Lewis_ This is all so utterly predictable and so bloody depressing. MLK, Malcolm and the rest of them must be turning somersaults wherever they are, in disbelief that we allowed ourselves to be dragged back to the 1940s.

This statement in support of the new Tory Leader is very disappointing. @BlackEquityOrg You cannot lead Black people in the U.K. and also be weak minded. We cant hope an enemy will change without acknowledging their crimes.

@MissMaSunshine @BlackEquityOrg Being Black is not just about pigmentation. It is a state of being in the world in one’s unfiltered fullness. It requires active resistance to systems and cultures that debase blackness and project white superiority.

@melissasigodo The entire Commonwealth constuct is an anachronism and should have been buried with QE2. Remember what Dr Eric Williams said about white abolitionists: “British historians wrote almost as if Britain had introduced Negro slavery solely for the satisfaction of abolishing it”

@nelsabbey Discrimination has always been an integral part of ‘diversity’, by definition. That’s why we have so many neofascists in black skin in the Tory party leadership. Btw, Meghan Markle’s ‘absent father’ was non-black!

Hmm, @Keir_Starmer sidestepping questions about @HackneyAbbott and claiming he's "changed the @UKLabour" as his message to minority voters? 🤔 That doesn't exactly inspire confidence, does it? Seems like he's more interested in distancing himself from accountability than actually addressing the concerns of those communities x.com/hol40900/statu…

Today Keir Starmer really didn't want to talk about Diane Abbott, and when asked what his message is to black & brown voters who might be thinking twice about voting for Labour, he said his message is he's changed the Labour Party.
