@GenXReaction @HighyieldHarry He realized he needed to go back to California to achieve what the builders of NYC had…so perfect

@GenXReaction @HighyieldHarry This also makes the final scene of the series funnier if he had this yearning for greatness beyond the small vision of advertising and it culminates in…yet another ad(although a great one!)

Hot take: Diagrams like these are bollocks; cargo-cult mental toys for mid people. They convey no meaningful information and their appendant "philosophies" are verbose trash.

@WorldWideWob Has anyone done a comparative analysis of % of regular season games missed to “injury” by stars across pro sports leagues? Seems clear the NBA is an outlier but would be nice to know by how much. It all feels like such a slap in the face to fans
English

My suggestion to NBA execs: if a fan has purchased a ticket from a marketplace directly affiliated with the team, the customer may opt in to an automated injury report notification texted to them the morning of the game.
Not everyone is in the day-to-day grind of monitoring volatile NBA injury reports, and this would be a simple/zero clicks required way to educate them.
This will also give attendees ample opportunity to change plans/tell their kids/manage expectations with clients/transfer or sell their tickets, so nobody feels like they've been rug-pulled when they get to the arena.
Will there still be game time decisions and uncertain statuses? Sure, but at least the customer can prepare for multiple outcomes and make a choice whether they feel the risk is worth it.
➡️It's an added benefit to buying tickets directly from the teams, and not using unregulated secondary markets.
➡️It can be automated
➡️It requires no action other than checking a box during checkout.
No-brainer.

Jalen Brunson has been downgraded to DOUBTFUL tonight vs Pacers - "right ankle injury management / cervical strain right side" And Mitchell Robinson has been added to Knicks injury report as QUESTIONABLE - “thoracic spine muscle tightness”

The fact that the Democratic Party was incapable info imagining this in 2009 is illustrative of their current irrelevancy as an opposition party. Had they been able to, we would be in a different place right now.

@profmoser @mattyglesias I'm unclear why Obama should have spent billions building homes in 2008 when the problem then was house prices were collapsing causing many people to be stuck in underwater mortgages.
English

@mattyglesias The “all” is hyperbole, but the core point that Obama(rather controversially across the political spectrum) at the time largely prioritized banks over inhabitants, and Steinbaum is doing something different and better. Seems pretty straightforwardly true to me.
English

@Malcopticon @mattyglesias True but many peviously independent working class voters were convinced by the tea party messaging and polarized eventually toward Trump. There was a golden opportunity for a generational realignment in Dems favor with a more populist response and they were incapable.
English

@Malcopticon @mattyglesias Seems to me the intellectually honest response amongst those who support Dems should be “why were we incapable of responding adequately” rather than years of deflection

@mattyglesias Did Obama prioritize keeping people housed over the banks in some post-2008 historical timeline I am forgetting?
English

@West_Looper @PolicyMulti @mattyglesias yes stuff just happens no one is ever responsible what can we do

@PolicyMulti @mattyglesias Not every financial problem is a crime. Sometimes bad things happen and it’s no one’s fault (criminal or otherwise).
