Looking forward to presenting @researchEDChesh on Saturday. At WhatWorked, we have developed a model for teacher led micro RCTs with @profstig. We had initially only thought about the UK for the MVP, but now have teacher trials requested in 15 countries in six weeks.

V v sad to say that my wonderful husband @paulcrisp died yesterday. He approached death& illness as everything else, pragmatically, rationally, and with dignity, style & a good deal of physics (for managing disability). I am truly blessed to have had his love 40+ years.

In Why Don't Students Like School? I said stories are "psychologically privileged." Much work since, confirming robustness of the effect--stories are easier to understand and remember. (Usual comparison = expository essay.) Here's a recent meta-analysis pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33410100/

@Martell_Tom This is based on the CAT4 post-test scores, which the Toolkit usually selects in an RCT. The evaluation report figure is based on gain scores and gain SDs.
