A coworker died yesterday morning😭.
HR knew by 9 :00 AM, but they kept us working all day. They finally told us around 4 :30 PM, then had the nerve to say, "You can head home early if you need to"—knowing we all finish at 5: 00 PM anyway.
This morning, it’s back to "business as usual." Some of my friends are literally sobbing at their desks, but they’re expected to work and be productive. No time to grieve.
It’s a cold reality. Within a week, the company will have his job posted online. Within a month, someone else will be sitting in his chair.
But his family ,his children will still talk about him every day, they will ask where is daddy , His wife will mourn him for ages ,he was the love of her life .
At work, we are just a "resource" that can be replaced in a week. At home, we are the world. Stop giving your best energy to a desk that will forget you, and giving the "leftovers" to the people who never will.

I WAS F*CKED BY A-45 OLD
This happened in 2018. A year that still confuses me when I sit quietly.
I saw an advert pinned on the fence of Joint Medical Stores in Nsambya. It read: “Driver with class B driving license needed. Salary 1.2M. Looking presentable is an added advantage.”
At that time,I was job hunting and staying at my girlfriend’s place in Nsambya. Evenings were spent at La Paronis Choma on Parliamentary Avenue where she worked. I would escort her, chill there and act like a well-planned boyfriend… yet in reality I was surviving on vibes, hope and “baby-ndunya” economics.
I had the license. I looked good. Even mirrors were supporting my dreams. Smart-wire codes.
I told my girlfriend about the job and she said, “Call them, beb.” I had no airtime,so I used her phone. Loudspeaker. Kuma obwesigwa vibes.
I even made it very clear to the woman who picked, “I have a girlfriend and I am calling you using her phone.”
I did not want confusion in my relationship.
I thought I was being transparent.
My boss-in-waiting thought I was submitting a package deal.
The woman picked and went straight to the real questions. Not even “how are you.”
“Are you tall? Dark-skinned? Presentable? Comfortable with rich older women?”
I answered like a man who knew rent was waiting for him at the end of the month.
Then she said, “Perfect. Come with your girlfriend. Let’s meet at Java House,Acacia, along John Babiha Road on Thursday 8th Feb 2018 at 10am.”
Even my ancestors leaned forward.
Thursday came. We went.
The woman was beautiful. Calm. Soft spoken. Very religious. Bible verses were served as freebies.
The kind you expect to find leading a powerful prayer session. She ordered food like she was hosting a business summit.
My girlfriend was fully enjoying.
I stayed disciplined with a cup of coffee, observing like CCTV.
Interview ended quickly. I got the job. Report Monday in Naguru.
Monday came. Big house. Four bedrooms. Just her and 5 dogs that looked like they had passports. Maids would come, work and leave.
During the day, this woman was in church. Calm. Holy. Peaceful. If you met her,you would confess things you never even did.
At night?
Different human being.
Full party animal. Energy on another level. I realized I had entered a day shift church program and a night shift enjoyment package.
First month was normal. Driving, moving around, adjusting.
Then life changed direction.
She asked me which hospital I would recommend for accurate tests for a full body checkup and I suggested IHK.
When we got to IHK on Barnabas Road,Namuwongo, she said we would both be tested and that she would pay for everything because she could not be with a driver whose health status she did not know.
After four days, she called me into her bedroom and I found her crying. When I asked her why she was crying, she said she hated herself, that she was cursed and wondered why I could not see she wanted me.
She said she was going through hell and all she wanted as a fire extinguisher was my boneless boy. I do not know the spell she cast on me. I woke up the next day and we were both naked. Yes,we did it. I was chewed raw.
From there,it became routine. Every night like it was part of the job description that was hidden in small font.
From there,things escalated quickly.
Salary moved from 1,200,000 to 4,000,000.
She bought me a Toyota Camry.
She bought land in Bwebajja. In my name.
At that point I knew I was no longer a driver. I was now a fully funded project.
I had moved in full-time. Fifteen suits in my wardrobe.
I was shining like a success story but deep down I knew I had skipped important chapters.
Then I discovered another shocking update.
This woman had paid my girlfriend’s rent for a full year.
That is when everything connected.
My girlfriend was not just supporting me.
She was part of the investment plan.
At that point, even confusion got tired and sat down.
Honestly,life was soft. Very soft.
Until the final request came

i was at the mall, already at the counter with my groceries.
this lady walked up to me, smiling and making small talk like we’d known each other before.
out of nowhere she goes, “you look interesting, can I have your number?”
i looked at her, then looked at my bill still sitting there unpaid.
i said, “you saw me at the counter and still came empty handed?”
she laughed like i was joking
she still dropped her phone for me to type my number
i just pushed it back and said, “at least try small first.”
she stood there confused for a second, then just carried her bag and left.
she really thought she could get my number without clearing my grocery bills, like bro that's common courtesy fgs😭

I was moderately smart today, standing by the roadside, when 2 youths pulled up arguing things of the space, galaxies, stars. Then they involved me. "Ssebo, isn't an asteroid bigger than a star?"
Me-who knows nothing about space-I didn't even blink. I said, "Yes. It's bigger."
Next thing, I saw the shorter one painfully handing over a 5k note to the taller guy. Unbeknownst to me, I was a tiebreaker.
The tall guy respected my contribution to science by giving me 2k. I went and bought a Rockboom.
Until now, I still don't know what asteroids are. And, I'm not even interested. I have a school fees balance for my son that's more serious than the entire galaxy. Guys, just dress smartly. People will assume you know things 🤗

MITOOMA DISTRICT OFFICIALS ARRESTED FOR SELLING GOVT JOBS!
This afternoon, @AntiGraft_SH in collaboration with @PoliceUg in Mitooma has arrested several officials from Mitooma District on allegations of selling government jobs and extorting money from job applicants during recent and ongoing Local Government recruitment exercises. The arrested officials include:
1.Mrs. Nakityo Joanita-Chief Administrative Officer,
2.Mr. Mugisha Sadic-District Health Officer,
3.Mr. Tugume Sam Karakuza-Chairperson of the District Service Commission
4.Mr. Nabimanya Richard- Senior Education Officer and others still on the run.
Investigations reveal that Mrs. Nakityo Joanita, the Chief Administrative Officer, has repeatedly interfered with the functions of the Service Commission by taking over responsibilities such as scheduling interviews and selecting technical advisors for the commission. Additionally, she directly influenced the scoring of candidates by the Chairperson of the District Service Commission, Mr. Tugume Sam Karakuza. It is alleged that Tugume extorted amounts ranging from UGX 7 million to UGX 25 million from 23 candidates, promising them jobs in the ongoing recruitment.
Mr. Mugisha Sadic, the District Health Officer, was found to have engaged in influence peddling to ensure specific candidates were included and scored highly, with two candidates receiving a score of 48 out of 50. He also leaked interview questions and answers to certain applicants to aid their preparations and gain an unfair advantage over others.
Mr. Nabimanya Richard, the Senior Education Officer, participated in influence peddling by contacting the Chairperson of the District Service Commission to secure favorable assessments for some education officers during interviews.
Other suspects on the run include Mrs. Owarimpa Esther, Parish Chief and LC3 Councillor of Kashenshero Sub-county, Mitooma district who allegedly extorted money from applicants promising them jobs an assurance that was false.
Investigations are still ongoing with possible corruption charges soon to be levied upon the suspects in the coming days.
The public is called upon to report incidents of extortion during recruitment to the authorities.
