I need more space. Literally. Yeet me into orbit.

@Truthful_ast I could be completely wrong, just guessing. But I imagine that since they plan on V3 Starship being their production version, they are being a bit more ITAR and competitively secretive in their media posts. But it would defintely be nice to get an update on HLS.

@1_johnlock @NASASpaceflight Yes, aside from the 3 boosters they've recovered. And that's 3 more than anyone else has done so far unless you want to count the Shuttles SRBs 🤷♂️
It's a highly experimental test vehicle bro. Sometimes you have to break things to make progress.
English

@prophead7566 @NASASpaceflight Every Starship disintegrated till now🤷♂️
English

It's been a ride following SpaceX from the pre-Falcon 1 days—but what a ride! And what's to come? That's where 'excitement guaranteed' ramps up to another level.

From learning to land a rocket to flying the same booster 30 times! Congrats to the @SpaceX team for continuing to make the impossible possible!!!
English

@1_johnlock @NASASpaceflight Why are you so edgy? And I don't have "master another language" in order to be able to understand that landing a rocket booster is less polluting than dumping it in the ocean lmao. Good ragebait though, I suppose.

English

@prophead7566 @NASASpaceflight Master my nativ languages as good I do yours, then we can go on with arguing.
And I'm definitely not your "bro".
English

@1_johnlock @NASASpaceflight "A person of science" yet critizing arguably the least polluting rocket ever produced (in terms of debris) and one that is in its developmental stage, aiming to be even less polluting.
That deserves to be judged my bro.
English

@NASASpaceflight Not odd.
I'm a person of science and working in "the air" since nearly 3 decades.
Be a "Fanboy" if you need to.
But don't judge me. You know nothing about me.

@rafaeltkinder @SpaceX Also worth noting, when an aircraft is struck by lightning it requires extensive maintenance. Replacing damaged components, compass recalibrations, static discharge ports/discs replaced. So while they are designed to protect people, the aircraft don't fare too well
English

Counting down to Starship's tenth flight test, weather is currently 45% favorable for launch in the 60-minute window → spacex.com/launches/stars…
English

@rafaeltkinder @SpaceX I wouldn't really call Apollo 12 "just fine" the crew did have to react and cycle various systems (I cant remmember exactly what) and I think they also factor in RUDs with the winds. Don't want debris being blown into places you don't want.
English

@rafaeltkinder @SpaceX Only real weather constraints are lightning and high winds. High winds can cause additional stresses on the rocket, and lightning can fry avionics at best and blow the whole thing up at worst

@AllThingsSpace3 Range is red, boats in hazard area....Flight Director is go for launch.
English

@Truthful_ast Concorde and the Shuttle fall into similar categories. Technically delivered what they advertised in terms of functionality, but as massive cost. Shuttle and concorde could have (and should have) evolved into more, but maintenance and operating costs killed them. Shame.
English

@booster_10 I sat there for multiple minutes with my jaw hanging open. Genuinely in the top 10 things that I have experienced in my whole life.
English

@Truthful_ast Very cool. Is it landing purely with parachutes or does it have powered landing capabilities?
English

@smolship1 This has genuinely been a joy to watch. The progress is absolutely inspiring. I wish you the absolute best going forward and look forward to seeing more!

Smolspace smolship development past/future.
From the start we started to try to develope SN1 from a sonotube, fiberglass and foam. After time, and a lack of money....divorce was in the way, we kinda gave up. As time went on, no divorce, we picked back up.
SN1 was formed of a fiberglass body, with heavy foam/fiberglass nose cone. SN1 was scrapped after expanding foam collapse in the fiberglass body.
SN2 was built using a sonotube with fiberglass and the original SN1 nose cone. We was able to purchase a P1S bambu lab printer, and we printed flaps for the ship.
SN2 went through a series of static fires leading up to a successful 6 motor static fire. In that time, SN3 was printed to test servo mounting and flap movement. SN2 was retired to static display.
SN 4/5/6 were printed from @DStarship3 files for drop testing. Fully readied forndrop flight trials and are awaiting drop drone completion of maiden flight and drop rig.
SN3 went on to perform out first propulsion flight, 1 motor had a cato, and 2 motors separated from the vehicle. SN3 was scrapped post flight. We learned alot about SN3 and how to adapt motor systems to these ships.
S7 is printed from Larsvommars files on makerworld . Had a successful static fire, however 5 of 6 motors fired, which was my fault. A week later, S7 flew with 6 motors igniting. S7 is on display in my office as of now, will be decommissioned in the near future.
This leads us to the future.......
English

Ship is ready for its attempt tomorrow. All motors and ignitors wirred and installed. Cameras are being charged, drone is down for maint, however, we'll use an exavator for an aerial cam.
We'll go live tomorrow at 7pm, and attempt launch at 7:10pm. If ship doesn't fly, it'll end up as a static fire. If it doesn't leave the ground tomarrow, it will in the future.
