@danorlovsky7 He went to the wrong ref for one. There’s a ref under the basket coming towards you, this is literally always the ref you go to for this timeout, not the ref who is running away from you to get into position for the ball coming down the court

@connorp864 @The_Danager @flowsdoc I tend to agree with you. when the guy has clearly already made first he should not be out. The ball trajectory is gonna hit in the middle of 2and1. In those cases it should be safe. Deliberate high action needed for inference should be required like hands up jumping etc.

@The_Danager @flowsdoc The runner shouldn’t have to get out of the way if they’re running within their base path. The fielder should have to make a better throw with a different arm angle. Just my opinion

It’s funny to me how many Jordan fans swear putting him anywhere below 1 means you don’t know ball but everybody I’ve talked to that works or has worked in an NBA front office (pretty large sample size) says LeBron and it’s not close. I’ve heard more NBA employees put Jordan outside of their top 2 than put him 1st. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some that would, but the number is very, very low. If there was somehow a draft with ever NBA prospect ever and you said you’d take Michael Jordan over LeBron James you’d be laughed out of the room. I’ve only ever heard one other name and it was not Jordan. Michael Jordan was hands down the greatest player of his generation and will always be one of the most iconic figures in sports but there are levels to it. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

This was the play that got Lu Dort ejected. The contact with Nikola Jokić appeared to be targeting his previously injured left knee. Some OKC fans are arguing it was just incidental contact and that Jokić sold it. But when asked, lead referee James Williams was clear that the action met the criteria for a flagrant foul due to the nature of the contact: “Lu Dort was assessed a flagrant foul penalty 2 because we deemed his contact on Jokić to be unnecessary and excessive with a high potential for injury, and also because the contact led to an altercation that did not dissolve.  So, by rule, a flagrant foul penalty 2 carries an automatic ejection.”

Lu Dort just got tossed after his actions against Nikola Jokić sparked a full-on melee in OKC. His night is done. Before the ejection, the Thunder had actually done a solid job on Jokić, holding him to just 6 of 18 shooting-his worst shooting performance of the season. Now things just got a whole lot more heated. 🔥🏀
