Having seen it up close now, I love the benches on the baselines. College hoops is great in part because of the character of its gyms, barns, arenas and field houses. Vandy is 1 of 1.

Cornell thumps Princeton, 102-70. Big Red own one of the most electric offenses you'll find anywhere. Cornell is now clinched into Ivy Madness. Joining Yale and Dartmouth. One spot remains. Princeton can secure it with a win over Penn next Saturday. Brown is still alive if not.

With the additions of Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC was supposed to be deeper than it's ever been. That was without a capable team at Vanderbilt. Dores are now 6-0. And a terrific watch. An emerging storyline in Nashville.

Brownell says there was a game where his team was up by 20 points and he kept his older players in because he wanted the margin. "That's the first time I did that." Says he finds himself coaching for defensive efficiency metrics for KenPom, etc. "The metrics are way too much."

Vanderbilt beats UK by 7 last night for their 5th Quad 1 win and only moves up 3 spots to 79 in the NET. Meanwhile, Iona beats Niagara (NET 247) by 12 and moves up 3 from 62 to 59. Vandy has 10 Quad 1/2 wins and is 79th. Iona has 0 Q 1/2 wins and is 59th. The NET is broken.
