I strongly condemn the Centre’s assault on Punjab’s water sovereignty. The amendment just notified to the BBMB recruitment rules opens the critical posts of Member (Irrigation) and Member (Power) to officers from non-stakeholder states. This is a calculated move to erode Punjab’s effective control over the Bhakra-Beas Management Board and its waters. This fits a clear and dangerous pattern of centralisation. The 2021 Dam Safety Act has already expanded Union dominance over dams located in Punjab. Now, by diluting the composition of the BBMB, the Centre seeks to shift decision-making power away from Punjab’s own institutions. The @AAPPunjab government’s silence and complete lack of action under Bhagwant Mann raise serious questions about its intentions. The Punjab government must immediately reach out to all concerned stakeholders, prepare a concrete action plan, and approach the Supreme Court to protect our sacred water rights.

For the past several days, Punjab has been facing severe weather conditions. Untimely rainfall has caused heavy damage to crops standing in farmers’ fields. Crops that were prepared with months of hard work have been destroyed within moments. For many families, these crops were their only source of income, and now they have been pushed into serious financial difficulty. The sad part is that instead of providing real help on the ground, those in power are still limited to hollow promises and statements. I urge both the Central (@PMOIndia) and State (@PbGovtIndia) governments to not just make statements, but to quickly assess the ground situation and provide immediate and proper compensation to the farmers affected by this natural disaster.

@BhagwantMann Is working honestly in Punjab now a crime ? The death of Dr. Hardeep Singh Randhawa is not just a suicide—it appears to be the “killing of an honest officer by the system.” A system that crushes those who speak the truth and rewards those who bow before lies. He was a young man who had every opportunity to settle abroad, but he chose his own land. He dedicated his education, talent, and life to serving Punjab. But his honesty came into conflict with a greedy and ruthless system. In his last video, he clearly explained how he was pressured to favor a tender for a minister’s family, was physically assaulted, and was forced at gunpoint to record a false statement. This is not just corruption—it is a clear abuse of power. Registering an FIR or asking for a resignation is not justice. It is just an attempt to cover up the failure of the system. A son, a family’s support, and an honest officer cannot be brought back. I demand that this case be handed over to an independent investigation agency, and that all those responsible, including the minister, be arrested immediately. If the government truly believes in justice, it must prove it through action, not just words. Today, every honest officer in Punjab is living in fear. Every truthful person is forced to think—will honesty become their biggest mistake ? This is not just the fight of one officer. It is a fight between truth and lies, between justice and injustice. And if we stay silent today, tomorrow there may be no one left to speak the truth.

The day after tomorrow, the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, @nsitharaman , will table the 88th Union Budget of independent India. Punjab has always stood firmly with the nation in times of need—whether it was feeding the country or defending its borders. From ensuring national food security to making the highest sacrifices for the safety of the nation, Punjab has consistently led from the front. However, today Punjab is facing serious economic challenges. The state’s youth are struggling with unemployment, industries are witnessing stagnation, and farmers continue to face severe financial stress. At this crucial juncture, Punjab urgently requires special economic support from the Central Government. As the Union Budget is presented on February 1, not only I, but the entire state of Punjab will be watching with hope and expectation. I respectfully urge the Union Finance Minister to announce a special economic package for Punjab, provide focused incentives for industrial revival, and introduce meaningful relief measures for farmers. After 72 hours of “Operation Parhar”, involving 12,000 police personnel across 2,000 teams and crores spent on publicity, Punjab was promised safety. Yet, within hours, firing on the vehicle of Akali Dal Waris Punjab De leader Jaswant Singh Cheema in Ludhiana exposes the hollowness of these assurances. This is a deeply disturbing incident and I strongly condemn it. It raises serious questions about the Punjab government’s priorities and the real state of law and order. Security cannot be ensured through press releases and advertisements alone. If Chief Minister @BhagwantMann cannot devote adequate time to the Home Department, the responsibility must be handed over to a capable minister. Punjab deserves governance, not optics. I strongly condemn the acquittal of #SajjanKumar in the 1984 Sikh #Genocide case. More than forty years after the organised killings of Sikhs, innocent families are still being denied justice. This verdict brings back painful memories and deepens the suffering of survivors who have waited decades for accountability. It exposes serious shortcomings in investigation and prosecution and reflects the continued failure to address crimes of mass violence. Such injustice deeply wounds the collective conscience of the Sikh community across the world and dishonours the memory of those who lost their lives in 1984.

For several days now, residents of Lehra, Sangrur have been struggling without access to safe drinking water. This is not an accident or an act of nature—it is a clear and disturbing reflection of the @AAPPunjab government’s gross neglect of citizens’ most basic necessities. When an area represented by the Minister for Water Resources ( @barinder_goyal ) itself is forced to beg for clean drinking water, it raises serious questions about the minister’s competence, accountability, and priorities. This situation amounts to a direct threat to public health and has the potential to trigger serious diseases or even an epidemic. What makes this situation even more unacceptable is that so much power is concentrated in one place. The Water Resources Minister and the Municipal Council President belong to the same family, three cabinet ministers ( @HarpalCheemaMLA , @AroraAmanSunam , @barinder_goyal ) are from the same district, and even the Chief Minister @BhagwantMann comes from Sangrur. Yet, despite all this political presence, people are still denied clean drinking water. This clearly shows the gap between the government’s claims and its real priorities. Water is a basic human right and essential for life. I urge the @PbGovtIndia to move beyond advertisements and act immediately to deliver a permanent solution. Any health crisis caused by this inaction will be the government’s sole responsibility.
