@pseudo_sue That's exactly the lie my post is about. It's not fraud — it's your federal right under HITECH § 13405(a). Tell them: "I'm paying out of pocket. Please honor my HITECH restriction."

If a hospital ever tells you that you must use insurance they are in violation of the HITECH act. All you have to do is tell them you do not want your health information shared with your insurance company. A lot of hospitals tell this lie to increase revenue but they are breaking the law.

A year ago, the place was destroyed by fire. We were in shock quite frankly about the change and I don’t think we will be back.
