I agree. I always went with the earliest printed English translations of Nietzche. Then I read a peculiar but very instructive book on how to read literary German (though it offered no guidance in spoken usage——it taught you only to read it). And now I just read the original.

Went to a local fair today, made small talk with some local parent figures. Some of them asked me if went to the recent "No Kings protest" and I told them that was old people shit. I think that stung further than arguing the moral valence of Donald Trump with them ever could

I used to default to the assumption that there's many very nice Europeans and Twitter just had a selection effect for terminally online assholes. As time went on and even "conservative" Europeans almost always began exchanges by calling Americans racially mixed mutts, this conclusion wavered. After 48 hours interacting with Japanese twitter, the stark contrast is making me think that most Europeans are exactly like what they present themselves as on here.
