🇲🇱 Al Qaeda-linked fighters are now blocking roads into Mali's capital Bamako.
JNIM, the Al Qaeda affiliate operating across West Africa, has set up checkpoints on routes into the city and is calling for the military government to be overthrown and replaced with Sharia law. At the same time, a separate rebel group called FLA has seized the northern town of Tessalit.
Mali kicked out French troops and replaced them with Russian mercenaries. That bet is not paying off right now.

🇷🇺🇲🇱 Russia's Africa Corps made a precision strike near the Mali/Mauritania border, hitting about 150 JNIM and Tuareg fighters. They had crossed into Mauritania to regroup after their late-April offensive on Malian bases and supply routes near Bamako when the strike began. 70 motorcycles and 4 technicals. All gone. Mauritania was supposed to be the safe zone. Africa Corps is making clear that there are no safe zones anymore.

La situation de certains logements sociaux sur la ville n’est pas acceptable. Il faut décréter l’urgence d’agir pour les bailleurs, et la mairie se tiendra aux côtés des locataires pour faire valoir leurs droits.
