@175Wpns Do you know what materials are now being used? Most existing aircraft are made of titanium alloys, though.

@push_four_04 No, it's because of the "new build" nature of the aircraft. They "knew how to fix" it, just it was impractical. So, the new structures, new materials fixed it. Now the fly by wire actually is for weight reduction and to get more "control logic" out of the aircraft.

Those weapons stations were there on the legacy models. They had found in flight test that hey caused a lot of issues and for the longevity of the fleet they stopped flying them. Also, the mission requirements didn't require them in those early days.

@SundogD So it was an existing hardpoint. I was under the impression it was a new addition.

@push_four_04 They did not add two more hard points. Those hard points have always been there, but they were unable to be used due to control issues. Now that the F-15 has a FBW FCS it can now use the outboard hard points.
