@UtdSMNT @pdcjay I'm putting a lot of the form on the coach. An entire team doesn't magically go to shit that quickly. It's a combination of a few things, but having zero flexible tacticability didn't help. Chemistry and positioning is a major major part of any player's game.

@BitwNJ @MichaelAdeitan @TheBallZoneX I would say the overall net motivation is less in pro/rel. In a playoff structure, nearly every position matters in the table and, once you hit the playoffs, it's do or die. The season doesn't just fizzle out for the majority of teams.

It takes a team over 15 games at a minimum to even reach the final World Cup qualifies let alone the World Cup proper. The American system works great on American sports because the closed league systems along with revenue sharing along with the salary cap makes it 100% even between teams to compete. The only uneven thing would come from the owners side when they refuse to spend or invest the money towards their teams, that’s why for example on face value the Yankees have a the same chances as the marlins of winning the World Series (obviously when taking into account the details they don’t). Football/soccer doesn’t work that way because motivation is a huge part of the equation when a team is bad 12-13 games of the first 17 of the season for example they know they won’t do well in the season, but the motivation to not disappoint the fans and lose out on money by getting relegated is also huge. A promotion/relegation system would do wonders for the American football system as it wouldn’t reward mediocrity, but at the same time if you do introduce a promotion and relegation you must abolish the salary cap in order to make maximize the growth of the league.
