I’ll explain it to you like you’re a child. My friends need food from the farm across the street, in order to eat. I have my own farm. There is a bully blocking the road. My friends can’t get to the farm. My friends ask me to get rid of the bully, because I am strong enough to do so and they are not. I say “Ok, but you need to help.” I am not begging my friends to help. I don’t need their help. I am making them put skin in the game because this is primarily serving their interests. I am also testing them to see if they are responsible partners, or if they are just using me because they are weak, lazy, and selfish. This is no more complicated than good parenting skills but you all pretend to be perplexed because of your TDS.

That was the necessary first step to gain knowledge, experience, friends, and to build an army of volunteers. Erin started three more ballot initiatives last year, and again with no significant donors, but now with thousands of volunteers, they worked day after day, month after month, and won!
