Yesterday was a long day. I was called for questioning in connection with a case that I believed had no merit, and I attended the questioning to present my version. However, the police arrested me at 5.30 PM. I was granted bail at 10 PM, and the Hon’ble Duty Judge clearly stated that he saw no offence in the case. He also said that he saw no mens rea and failed to understand why I had even been arrested. Grateful to @RaviSharmaTalks and @sidcool2302, the wonderful lawyers who helped me through this. Thankful to the many people, both online and offline, who supported me. I’m truly grateful. Of course, there are many who dislike you and use such opportunities to strike harder when you are down, but that’s fair game. It was your day, and you took it. I can take those blows and come back. At times like these, one realises the importance of ideological support. The people who stood by me at the most crucial juncture were neither close friends nor relatives, but those with whom I am bound by ideology. And it delivered for me when it mattered most. This incident has added many new layers of perspective, most importantly the ones we usually miss in the melee of day-to-day social media discourse. I’ll write about the specifics of this case another day. For now, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has been a well-wisher. I’m grateful. Thank you for monitoring the situation.

Why the PM said what he said in Hyderabad today about WFH, saving petrol, avoiding destination weddings, not buying gold for a year, etc. India imports massive quantities of both crude oil and gold, and both are paid for in dollars. In a period of geopolitical instability, if crude oil prices rise sharply while gold imports and luxury foreign spending continue unchecked, it puts enormous pressure on India’s foreign exchange reserves, trade deficit, rupee stability, and inflation. Oil is a necessity. Gold and luxury foreign expenditure are lnot. From a policymaking perspective, reducing non-essential dollar outflow during economic uncertainty becomes strategically important. If people don't save fuel, keep buying imported gold at record levels, and spend heavily abroad, the pressure eventually hits the rupee itself. A weaker rupee makes imports more expensive, fuel prices rise, transportation costs go up, and eventually the price of almost every commodity in the economy starts increasing. So his appeal is logical for collective good.

A social media influencer (Dr Neelam Singh alias The Skin Doctor) has been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly posting tweets against the Kapur family following the death of businessman Sunjay Kapur. Seats 59 and 64. Sometime after midnight, between Bahadurpur outer signal and Laksar station in Haridwar district, the family fell asleep. When they woke up, Pragya’s seat was empty. Manish searched every coach. She was not there. Her phone was switched off. Her last known location had pinged near Laksar. A missing FIR was filed at Laksar Kotwali. GRP, RPF and local police have searched the tracks, nearby areas, hotels and hospitals. Five days have passed. She has not been found. When her family checked the CCTV cameras at Laksar railway station, most of them were not working. No footage of her movement exists. Her family confronted Laksar Station Superintendent K R Meena over this. There was no satisfactory answer.
