The argument over the use of puberty blockers and hormones in minors is an interesting one. I believe it’s caused by a desire to alienate a group of people and to create culture wars. If minors are too young for consent shouldn’t there also be debates over circumcision? Shouldn’t that child wait until adulthood too? If minors are too young for consent shouldn’t there be more outrage over Child marriage that occurs much more frequent than gender affirming care? If minors are too young for consent shouldn’t there be outrage over virtually every other non-lifesaving medical treatment in children? What about ADHD treatment? What about surgery on children born with multiple sex organs? People rationalize what they believe is “right” based on their own life scenarios and how ”strange” something seems to them. Culture wars are real. I don’t agree in sex change surgeries in children but if a parent, doctor and psychologist believe a child is better off in the long run taking puberty blockers, then keep politics out of it.

On May 24, 2022 in Uvalde Texas, an 18 year old walked into Robb Elementary School and shot and killed 19 children and 2 adults. Two days ago in Houston Texas, a man paused his dinner date to shoot and kill a fake parking attendant. Last night in Cleveland Texas, 5 members of a family (including an 8 year old child) were shot and killed by their neighbor after they asked him to stop firing his gun on his front lawn so their baby could sleep. So when Republican lawmakers in a state where it’s easier to get AR-15s than books about Black history say their abortion ban is about being “pro-life”… They’re full of shit.
