With respect to Hafiz Saad and his situation and may he be freed and get to his family ASAP. He was no Anas Al-Sharif & Saleh Al-Jafrawi, but an army stooge who wrote their narratives and attacked political opposition. Comparing him to those who reported live from Gaza is a joke.

پی ٹی آئی کا کلٹ سعد ریاض کے اغواہ پھر گرفتاری پر خوش ہے۔ اس کی پی ٹی آئی مخالف پوسٹس کو سامنے لایا جارہا ہے کہ دیکھا ریاست کیساتھ کھڑے ہونے کا یہی انجام ہوتا ہے۔ اس سے یہ بھی ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ عمران خان کا یہ کلٹ رول آف لاء اور سول سپرمیسی پر یقین نہیں رکھتا بلکہ یہ اپنے مخالفین کے اغواہ گرفتاری جعلی مقدموں پر خوشیاں مناتے ہیں۔ ان کو رول آف لاء صرف اسی وقت یاد آتا ہے جبکہ کوئی عمرانی ٹائیگر قانون کی گرفت میں آجائے۔

🔵 After being forcibly deported from Pakistan to Afghanistan, I arrived with nothing but a determination to rebuild my life and contribute meaningfully to society. Despite the challenges, I chose not to remain idle. One of my greatest aspirations is to initiate a large-scale #tree 🌳 plantation campaign. Having witnessed how the greenery of #Islamabad ♥️ enhances its beauty, environment, and quality of life, I strongly believe that similar efforts in Afghanistan can transform the cities, improve air quality, and create a healthier future for generations to come. The Afghan Govt is already working on the Tree Plantation campaign.
During my time here, I have observed something deeply inspiring: from children to elders, people in Afghanistan are incredibly hardworking. ماشاءاللہ 👏 Despite facing numerous hardships, they continue striving every day to support their families with dignity and resilience. This unwavering spirit is the true strength of any nation.
The real pillars of a country are its people. When citizens are dedicated and hardworking, they deserve support in return. It is essential for governments to provide ease, facilities, guidance, and opportunities that empower individuals to grow and contribute effectively. With the right support system, combined with the determination of the people, there is always hope for a better and stronger future.

To civil society, journalists, and state officials: I am writing as a grieving wife, seeking the immediate and lawful release of my husband, Muhammad Saad. At approximately 3:30 AM this Monday, 12–13 masked men with guns forcibly entered our home and took him away without presenting any warrant or lawful authority. This was an unlawful deprivation of liberty and a direct violation of due process. Only after legal pressure did personnel within CTD register an FIR on laughable grounds. This post facto action raises serious concerns of mala fide intent and abuse of process, where the law is invoked after the fact to justify an illegal act. Saad is a journalist, researcher, and Political Science scholar. His work engages with complex subjects, including Balochistan, Kashmir, and international affairs. He has interviewed recognised public figures such as Former Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar, as well as senior journalists Sohail Warraich and Hamid Mir, and has introduced major international voices to Pakistan’s media space. More importantly, Saad has worked with state institutions when called upon, contributing to areas aligned with the national interest. He was vetted, cleared, and entrusted by the State. Today, that same individual is being subjected to coercive action by its functionaries. This contradiction is not incidental but structural. If individuals who have been vetted and trusted by the state can be subjected to arbitrary detention and retrospective criminalisation, then the question is unavoidable: on what basis does the state expect trust from its citizens? The actions of certain personnel within CTD constitute a clear overreach of authority. Powers granted for public safety cannot be exercised in violation of constitutional safeguards, including the inviolability of the home and the right to due process. The law does not permit enforced taking into custody followed by procedural reconstruction. Saad has never engaged with any proscribed material nor been involved in any unlawful activity. His life and work have remained within the bounds of law and intellectual inquiry. I call upon civil society, the media, and responsible state authorities to take immediate cognisance of this case. Ensure due process. Examine the legality of the initial detention. Hold those responsible accountable. And ensure his safe and immediate release. This is not just about one individual. It is about law and dignity. It is about giving hope to others who have worked for the state and Pakistan whenever called upon, who have trusted the state against all odds. This youth must be protected and safeguarded within a shrinking demographic that believe in state and that is increasingly disillusioned and disenfranchised. #ReleaseSaad #RuleofLaw

My dear friend @hafizsaadriaz was abducted by the CTD a few days ago. After keeping him in illegal custody, an FIR was filed where it was alleged that he was an Al Qaeda member who was distributing banned literature in the hopes of recruiting people.
In the FIR, it was alleged that he was arrested from a mosque but camera footage proves that false as saad was abducted from his house in the dead of the night.
Despite the allegations being unfounded and frivolous, we observe a pattern of victim blaming in the online space so i have to mention that in the light of my personal interactions and Saad's publicly expressed rhetoric, it's evident that he thought of Al Qaeda as a terrorist organisation. Below, I'm attaching some of his publicly expressed views in regards to the mentioned banned organisation.
Fabricating the location of abduction serves as enough proof for us to see how frivolous the case is.
Saad's family and eon podcast (where he works) have expressed that now as the matter is in the court, they believe in the rule of law taking its course and justice to prevail.
As Saad's family and organisation chose to go public with this news just now, this tweet has been made to inform you people and to play my part for a friend who has always been there for others.
Saad Riaz has always fought the case of people from Kashmir to Gaza, from Afghanistan to Syria. He's an academic who uses his pen to support the oppressed and fight the war of the narratives against the empire. I would request all of you to please pray for him and his family.
