The biggest coup before IPL 2024 was Hardik joining as captain for MI after two magical seasons with GT, winning a championship and narrowly losing another final. And yet, an MI side under him with 4 current India T20 stars, India's last 2 T20 WC winning captains, the captain of a WC T20 finalist in 2026, a player who won 4 POTMs in WC 2026 and the best bowler in the world across thee formats has come 10th in 2024, finished 4th in IPL 2025 league stages and is currently in 9th place in 2026. It's fair to say it has caught every expert by surprise, and it is forcing everyone to look at different ways to analyze squad strength.

It's official! Draft rules for E85/E100 flex fuels are now out for public consultations before implementation. Is it a bad thing? Nope. Imho, this is one of the best things that has happened to ICE vehicle owners. Why do I say this? Because the Govt wants to bring in E85/E100 fuels to market quickly. As early as end-2026. Because this also means that the Govt can't mess with existing vehicles. So, existing vehicle owners need not worry. Yes, E20 is a pain but a pain that can be overcome with some plumbing changes. So, E20 will become the defacto standard for every vehicle that's not specifically designed to run flex fuels such as E85/E100. E85/E100 will be the fuel for the new range of flex fuel powered cars and two wheelers. There will be separate fuel dispensing infra (different nozzles) for E85/E100. Like say regular petrol and power petrol. This also means that we are moving towards a multi-energy future. ICE Hybrids running flex fuels, diesels, EVs and also green hydrogen powered commercial transport. Maruti and Toyota are ready to launch flex fuel vehicles. That's nearly 45-50 % of the market. TVS also is. That's 20 % of the two wheeler market. It's only a matter of time before every automaker starts producing flex fuel compatible cars. I hope the Govt takes inspiration from Brazil - a pioneer in flex fuels. Brazil supports multiple blends at the pump: E27, E85/E100 etc. Vehicle owners in that part of the world can choose between multiple blends depending on prices. Yes, ethanol-based flex fuels also have price fluctuations depending on ethanol production/cropping cycles etc. Ideally, we should be paying less for flex fuels. Let's see how this pans out. @CarToq cartoq.com/car-news/india…

The most underreported addiction crisis in India is parents and their phones, and I'm being completely serious. My dad's screen time is higher than mine. He watches reels at full volume during dinner. Not on Instagram. On Facebook. He hasn't discovered YouTube Shorts yet and honestly I'm terrified for the day he does. He plays card games on his phone with a focus and intensity he has never applied to anything I've told him about my life. He forwards updates to what I can only assume is every person he's ever met. He's in WhatsApp groups I didn't know existed having debates with people from his work about things that happened in 1999. My mom is in 14 WhatsApp groups. She reconnected with her college friends and school alumni through WhatsApp. Women she hadn't spoken to in 30 years. That part is genuinely beautiful. The less beautiful part is that she plays Candy Crush with so much dedication. She scrolls reels on Facebook and shows me every third one with "ye dekh kitna funny hai" and it's a reel I saw 3 weeks ago. I smile every time. She sends it anyway. They spent my entire childhood saying "phone band karo." "Computer se door baitho." "Aankhein kharab ho jaayengi." And now I'm the one saying "papa phone rakh do, so jao" and he does the exact same dismissive hand wave I used to do at 15. Same wave. Same energy. The thing is, they never built immunity to it. Our generation grew up with the internet. We learned to doomscroll and feel guilty about it. We have the "I should put my phone down" instinct even if we don't follow it. They discovered unlimited entertainment at 55 with zero guilt, zero screen time awareness, and zero concept of doomscrolling. They just went all in. My dad and his card games. My mom and her Candy Crush. Both of them and their Facebook reels that they share on WhatsApp. The screen time conversation completely flipped in one generation, and the kids became the parents. Nobody is ready for this conversation, but every person reading this just thought of their own mom or dad.

Don't pack your bags & jump to India. First stay here for 2 years & decide. Coming for 2 weeks vacation is different & living routine life is different. Watch this video by @Ashneer_Grover. Tax is competitive to the US, benefits competitive to Bangladesh. Temperature is 46.

Cars overheating these days? Yes and ethanol-blended fuel is one of the reasons, let me explain. After doing some research and speaking with experienced mechanics, it’s clear that ethanol does impact engine behavior especially in smaller engines (1.5–2.5L). Here’s the simple breakdown: Ethanol has lower energy per litre compared to petrol. So, to produce the same power, the engine has to inject more fuel and work harder. That naturally increases overall load and heat generation. Now imagine real-world Indian conditions stuck at a red light, AC running, temperatures above 40°C. That’s where the stress adds up. This is something both the government and the common user often overlook. The tricky part? You won’t easily notice slight overheating. It’s gradual, silent damage that keeps affecting engine health over time and reduces its lifespan. Honestly, the way things are going, cars may not last as long as they used to. That old reliability of running vehicles for 10–15 years feels uncertain now 4–5 years might become the new normal if this continues. Not trying to argue just observe it yourself, research a bit, and you’ll start connecting the dots! 😉

A simple train journey turned into a lesson. Me and my friend were traveling from Varanasi to Delhi in 3AC. I had upper berth, he had middle. Coach was empty, so we sat on the lower berth. After a few stations, a group came 2 women and a man. The moment they entered: “Oye hat idhar se… ye meri seat hai.” We quietly moved away, thinking no need to argue. Later we came back and sat again. This time she started again: “Samajh nahi aata kya? Jaha teri seat hai waha ja.” That’s when I replied: “At least read railway rules. I have the right to sit here till 10 PM.” Scene escalated. Shouting, abuses. So I called TTE and RPF. They checked tickets. All three were traveling on someone else’s tickets. RPF removed them from the train for action. The loudest people aren’t always right. Sometimes, they’re just the most wrong.

Yeah - Tiger Global, a multi billion dollar fund, which has SOLD ITS ENTIRE HOLDING in Ather, a multi billion dollar company, is using its influence in the subsidiary of one of its 100+ portfolio companies to get a bad review posted online.
Mikku 🐼@effucktivehumor

Yeah bro, this absolutely looks neutral, fair, unbiased and not targeted especially after I came to know that Ather is backed by Tiger Global and Tiger Global funded Spinny, which owns Autocar India. Not suspicious at all!!

Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh, once welcomed in Bollywood and supported by stars like Emraan Hashmi & Shah Rukh Khan (even played SRK’s father on screen in Om Shanti Om), is now part of content portraying India negatively. This is exactly how soft power is weaponised. India gave platform, visibility, and respect. In return? Narrative-building against India. Maybe it’s time we stop being so naive.

This is also why I don’t consider FIRE as a great concept tbh Bcz after years of working, you gather enough expertise to kill in the market. You can genuinely compound money way better than anyone starting their career. So better to use your knowledge to create wealth even if it is for philanthropic purposes. Bcz nothing worthy gets created without 💰
Kawaljeet Singh@kawal279

In our business, we keep on meeting people from different backgrounds and cities. What strikes me most is how much money can be made in one lifetime. Mind boggles seeing people making money on a monthly basis, which equals the annual package of a senior level corporate employee. Icing on the cake is this just one part of income. They usually have rental income or side incomes which generate same amount of money for them on a monthly basis !
