Up we go! The steel launch table that New Glenn sits on weighs 1.7 million pounds (roughly 726 metric tons), including the clamps that connect to the vehicle's aft ring.

We recently completed New Glenn’s first stage test of its six landing legs—a key area for reusability, which lowers the cost of access to space. The landing gear stow inside the rocket during flight, deploying as the booster gently touches down on our landing vessel at sea.

@BCCarCounters @julia_bergeron Do they scrap existing designs of starship and move forward with design change moving flap to leeward side? I am very eager to see what data they collect on the heat tiles.

In case you are wondering. The FAA is still asscessing the operation and will determine if a mishap investigation is warranted, regarding Starship Flight 4.

Starship FT-4 (unofficial) infographic wallpaper. What I love about a good infographic is its ability to tell the story without words. I normally provide my infographics with and without text, both have their merits.

Here is my (unofficial) infographic of Starliner’s first crewed launch, scheduled to liftoff from the Cape no earlier than June 1, 2024. Let us also not forget another milestone with this mission, it will be ULA’s first ever crewed mission as the launch provider. Godspeed to all.

@radeng87 @NASASpaceflight (I have not done this for this item of debris). With the motion across the sky and the variation in brightness, you can imply the size and speed/trajectory to a moderate degree of accuracy. If it ends up as >earth escape speed, it is almost certainly a meteor.

Hand belonging to an X-ray technician at the Royal London Hospital, which shows the damage from radiation exposure, 1900. Every morning, they would calibrate the machines by taking an X-ray of their hands. So you might be wondering, why not just use something else to test the X-ray? Like a piece of meat or a chicken leg? Well back in 1900, people didn't know the dangers of radiation exposure so they thought it would be harmless to use their hands. During this time, people could even purchase and build their own X-ray at home for entertainment purposes. Those who did, however, often went on to develop cancer or suffer from amputations. The X-ray had been discovered just a few years before in 1895 by a man name Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, a German mechanical engineer and physicist. He named it X-ray because he actually didn't have a name for his invention and decided to use the mathematical designation "x" for something unknown. In some European countries, X-rays are actually called Röntgen rays. Röntgen did not seek patents for his discoveries because he wanted society to benefit from the practical applications of X-rays. In 1901, Röntgen was awarded the first Nobel Prize in Physics.

@wholemars @BottinPhilip For those who follow this company and the industry closely truly understand the success of this mission in terms of data collection. This by design part of the the iterative process which allows for more test flights which result in a higher failure rate but generates results.

The biggest rocket in the world just flew further than it ever has before. But if you listen to the media, you’d think it was a big fat flop. The reality: The magnitude of this accomplishment by SpaceX makes the entire career of those critics look like a joke by comparison.

@WallStreetSilv Nuclear power is so much safer than most people make it out to be. It's nearly 8,000 times more efficient than traditional fossil fuels. Here's a newly built reactor called Plant Vogtle in Maon GA. The only one built in the US in the past 20 years. We need more of these.

Germany energy policy is crazy. Germany destroyed their own nuclear power plants, shutting down 17 nuclear power plants since 2011. Then they buy power from France, which is 2/3 nuclear. Germany also can't buy natural gas via pipeline from Russia. Instead they import it via LNG from around the world, which is usually WAY more expensive.
