If anyone talks about the 2026 World Cup, two stories will stand out: Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. First, Ishan Kishan, a player tearing it up in domestic cricket, yet overlooked for selection. No contracts. But the selectors saw the magic, picked him straight into the Indian squad for the WC, and he grabbed that opportunity like a man possessed. Every inning screamed “I belong here,” and he delivered under pressure like few could. Then, Sanju Samson, he was carrying the weight of criticism, struggling through rough patches, and publicly called out for his dips in form. He got a chance against Zimbabwe, showed glimpses, got dropped, and then came back when India needed him the most. What followed was sheer redemption: a knock so explosive, so composed under pressure, it became history. These aren’t just innings; they're peaks of resilience and skill, moments that will inspire generations of cricketers to come.

When India’s renewable dream meets reality - The Satara Story In the lush hills of Maharashtra, rests Tarali Village of Satara district, villagers are protesting Adani Green Energy’s ₹20,000(?!) crore pumped hydro storage (PHS) project. @AdaniGreen @AdaniGreenTalks They allege illegal land grabs, missing environmental clearances , and threats to the fragile ecosystem of the Western Ghats - a UNESCO World Heritage Site that also offers India’s best(?!) PHS potential thanks to its steep slopes, heavy rainfall, and high elevation. India’s energy need is humongous..! We’re chasing 500 GW of renewables by 2030, not just for climate goals but to cut billions in fossil fuel imports..! But the problem with renewable energy is - it’s intermittent..! When the sun shines on India in all its glory and sometimes fury 😉 , Daytime solar elecrticity generation peaks , which is why electricity prices usually crash below ₹1/unit , Esp when compared to peak electricity demand hours of the day (6 p.m. – 10 p.m.), when solar output drops and prices soar beyond ₹9–10+/unit. Without storage, cheap daytime power is wasted. And costly, coal-based generation ends up filling the gap, along with the pollution and import bills that come with it. That’s where systems like PHS and BESS come in - Storing solar surplus electricity by day and releasing it at night to stabilize supply. Of these, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) are relatively expensive..components often need to be imported, and their lifecycle is shorter due to battery degradation. In contrast, PHS works like a natural battery..!🤯 Water is pumped from a lower to a higher reservoir and released whenever electricity is needed. It’s simple, efficient, and long lasting..with a lifespan of around 40 years with minimal maintenance..I must say..! And with India projected to need 27 GW+ of storage by 2032, projects like this are indeed crucial. But when such important developments move ahead without local consent or ecological care, trust collapses..!😑 Similar protests in Andhra Pradesh tell the same story.. Poor communication and growing Distrust..! 😑 With community participation, fair compensation, and strong environmental safeguards, projects like this can still be a Win-Win powering India’s future while protecting its people and lands. 🌱 #TaraliProtests #WesternGhats #World_Heritage_Site Ref. – Official @CEA_India, @mpcb_official & @IEX_India_ websites & " Adani Watch org " blog posts CC to Energy Minister of Maharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis sir Also Energy Minister of India @JoshiPralhad ji Image - Western ghat range near Kas Pathar..A world Heritage site and Maharashtra's own valley.. actually platue of Flowers..Not far from the Tarali project site. Civic infrastructure of Nagpur, managed by Nagpur Municipal Corporation having yearly budget of ₹5500 crore is 10 times better than Mumbai, managed by BMC having yearly budget of ₹55,000 crores Their G20 lights are still working. Nagpur has invested well in footpaths, street furniture. The more I travel India, I feel ashamed to be living in Mumbai. I live in South Mumbai. Mumbai Suburbs have pathetic living standards compared to any Indian Tier 2 city. I suggest Mumbaikars to travel more in India & retrospect.
