It turns out that Winston Churchill was issuing advice for radiologists and reporting radiographers way back in 1940. But it’s still relevant today...

@jesscoopsy Hi. I have a question to ask you about GA paediatric MR workflows. Would you be free for a quick chat in the next week or two please?

I’m all for better visibility of AHPs but I wasn’t sure that when the lady in the catering team let me have lunch without paying as the card machine was broken and she said could trust me to come back and pay tomorrow as “you can trust a doctor” was the right time to do that…

@LouiseNBurton @PeterMcAuley9 @SCoRMembers No, the ballot is recorded against each Trust separately. If it was a “all in or all out” national strike decision it’s almost certain that the threshold to strike wouldn’t be reached nationally and so no strike action would take place.

If you are unlucky enough to need NHS treatment this evening, please remember to show staff the kindness they deserve. They really are doing their best in impossible circumstances.

@AbbieTutt @radRounds Everyone’s been saying for years the next logical step is to scan patients as they go in the door at ED. Maybe this hospital is piloting that.

That's a wrap! After 15 years of calling @WythenshaweHosp my work home it's time to move on. So thankful to have such generous friends and colleagues. Now looking forward to a new challenge with a real opportunity to make a difference as part of the @MFT_CSS team. Roll on Monday!

This sort of comms and action would be welcome by all staff across the NHS who are affected. Clearly the pay cut for staff on the base 8a pay point is pretty hard to stomach but it would be good for employers to recognise they can help mitigate that impact of that in Sept pay.
Sophie Detraux@SophieDetraux

**The ‘PAY AWARD’ will be backdated to 1st April 22 and due to this your pay for September could be around £200 LESS ** ‘Pay award’ = less take home Disappointed to be greeted by this letter when I arrived home after my 39 hour NHS shift of work/on call. #nhs #nhspay #NHSPayCut

@hollyxray30 Don’t be worried if it’s not great or things happen that you find difficult. Night shifts are some of the most fulfilling shifts professionally but also some of the most difficult. Don’t expect too much of yourself early on and don’t be afraid to ask for help.Hope it goes well.🤞

@EllieMai123 The shame of it is,it’s actually great that a national newspaper has discussed this at all! The fact it’s notable to see “radiographer” in an article is a measure of how little exposure Imaging gets in the press. We do get mentioned now with backlogs and cancer waits going up…🙁

@EMManchester @Jopo_dr Well if someone had a cupboard full of radiographers it’d be good to know where the key is,just in case. Hope you r doing well too, it’s a long time ago since I did any clinical teaching but I remember those days fondly,it was a great team 2 work with, thanks 4 your kind words.

@radiographyuk @Jopo_dr Or does that mean we had to break out the older radiographers Jon, presumably from some aged emergency cupboard 😆😆😆 In other news - fab to hear from you again and hope al well. (FYI Jon taught me and many other EPs SO MUCH over the years 🤩🤩)

I mean I know that we’re all a bit tired at the mo but this seems a bit harsh on radiographers (from a Guardian article on NHS supply shortages)…🤣

@CaztasticS I think we both know that, in the NHS, just because something is old technology it doesn’t mean it gets retired. I think you’ll have to put a few more years in yet…

@vickycowley12 @Xray_Eljay An AMX4 in the year 2063 after the third global nuclear war. The exposure lead is a bit singed but still fine aside from that…

@cherryblack I’ve now realised that our fleet of Roboradiographers could download their mandatory training overnight thus always achieving 100% compliance for the department. I’m now fully behind the idea.

@cherryblack I can only make it make sense if u start the sentence off with “radiographers had to continue to use…” Either that or the Guardian have been tipped off about a warehouse full of robot radiographers who knock out perfect HBL hips every time. It would solve the staffing problems…
