Venture investing is a remarkable job. You get to hear visions for the future from founders. Then you get to help in a small way while they go and will that vision into existence with resilience, grace, and grit. Being at Sequoia has given me the chance to work with some of the best founders in the world. Bret and Clay. Max, Jeff, Marcelo, and Daniele. Eric and Karim. Saji and Ashu. Job and Marcelo. Anil and Sunil. George. So many others. They are awe-inducing and inspiring. So inspiring that I've decided to join them and start my own company. I miss building and leading. I want to compete on the field during the AI wave. I'll share more soon, but for the moment, I will say that AI is the most transformative technology of our lifetimes. The opportunity for companies who embrace it thoughtfully and aggressively is unbounded. I love Sequoia and have made lifelong friends here. I have been lucky to learn from the very best. And I will still be on the team. Sequoia will be a founding investor in the new company and I will remain a Partner. I am so excited to get back on the field. LFG.

Mukul has played many roles for Meesho and me over the years. Our first institutional investor, my first mentor, solid pillar in the good and the bad times. But the one I cherish the most is our friendship. @mukularora, thanks for everything!
Mukul Arora@mukularora

Today @Meesho_Official became a public company. Congratulations to Vidit @viditaatrey, Sanjeev @barnwalSanjeev and the entire Meesho team on building one of the most mission-driven companies India has produced in the last decade. We at Elevation Capital @ElevCap feel privileged to have been partners since 2017. Back then, it took us 1.5 years and multiple meetings before we finally partnered, and watching what's unfolded since then has been nothing short of remarkable. Last week, Vidit and I went back to Cafe Noir @ UB City where, in June 2017, we had decided to partner. Same place, same table. We hadn’t returned together in eight years. And sitting there, it felt like time folded in on itself. That day in 2017, Vidit cancelled another investor meeting to meet me. I’ve always remembered that as a small but decisive moment. What I learned only last week was that he thought the other fund was more likely to convert. And still, he chose to meet me. I can’t thank him enough for that decision - because it led to one of the most defining partnerships of my career and one of the most fulfilling relationships of my life! Sitting there, we ended up reminiscing about the whole arc: the early days with very little runway; the brutal months in 2016-17 that forged the culture; the courage to pivot from reseller-first to consumer-first; and the conviction to go zero commission when many people thought it was impossible. From those early conversations to today: 200 million+ customers, 500k+ sellers, and 100k+ livelihoods created through Valmo. Meesho has truly democratized e-commerce in India. And beyond the numbers, what has stood out for me the most is the character of the journey: deep customer obsession, the courage to make non-consensus decisions, and stellar execution to back them - again and again. Watching Vidit and Sanjeev has been a masterclass. Vidit's rare combination of super long term thinking and operational depth, seeing clearly where the world is heading, and having the conviction to act; Sanjeev’s quiet excellence and the stellar engineering team and culture he’s built - one that so many teams in India now look up to. And through it all, both staying humble and grounded. As they remind us, this is just chapter one. The e-commerce market in India is still in its early days and the mission is just getting started! I couldn't be more excited about what comes next. Congratulations once again to the exceptional team that has delivered on super auditious goals time and time again - Dhiresh, Roopa, Debdoot, Milan, Prasanna, Megha, Siddharth, Ashish, Sourabh, Steffie, Harshit, Prateek, Kirti, Jatin, UK. And thank you for the partnership. It has been a privilege! Penned down my reflections on the journey here: tinyurl.com/ElevationMeesh…

A few months ago, Blinkit Ambulances started quietly in Gurugram with just 5 ambulances and a dream. What if emergency help could reach you in 10 minutes, just like groceries? This is one of the hardest and the most resource intensive challenges we have ever taken up. But we are not backing down. We started with 5 ambulances at the beginning of the year in Gurugram and currently, we have 12.  From serving a small area around Golf Course Road, we have now extended the service to cover almost half of Gurugram.  Until today, we have responded to 594 calls, 50% of these critical emergencies. Today, our 12 ambulances across 6 depots reach patients within 10 minutes, 83% of the time. But numbers only tell part of the story. Behind every number, every case, is a human being and their family. Moments of fear and hope, desperation and relief. We discovered how hesitant people still are to call an ambulance, even in critical moments. Many prefer personal cars or cabs, afraid help won’t arrive on time. We learned how difficult it is to find and train paramedics who can deliver not just medical aid, but empathy when it matters most. Our team is now building an in-house paramedic training program to raise the bar of emergency care in India. Blinkit Ambulances isn’t just a project. It’s a responsibility we carry close to our hearts. It’s tough, it’s emotional, and it’s still Day 1. We’re learning. We’re committed. And we won’t stop until every single person trusts that life-saving help is only 10 minutes away. Has Blinkit Ambulances helped you, or your near and dear ones? We would love to hear your story – will serve as fuel for us and the Ambulances team to keep going. Cc @albinder

ELON MUSK: “Inflation, throughout history, has been used as a pernicious tax… It's like one degree removed, so people don't feel it directly. Then, the politicians will try to blame it on something else. But it's all about government spending.”

Interest payments already consume 25% of all government revenue. If the massive deficit spending continues, there will only be money for interest payments and nothing else! No social security, no medical, no defense … nothing.
Wall Street Mav@WallStreetMav

Our annual US budget deficit is going to be over $2 trillion per year going forward. We pay over $100 billion per month in interest on the national debt. $1.2 trillion per year. That is about 25% of all government revenue going to pay interest on the debt.

Holistic college admissions? More like hostile and racist. 18-yo prodigy Stanley Zhong gets Google L4 but is rejected by 16 colleges. I sat with his YC-alum dad Nan, who sued UC to crack open the admissions black box. The American Dream demands merit not more racism 👇
