To celebrate World Book Day and a love of reading, we’ll have a whole school literacy themed costume day next Thursday for Year 7-10 students. The theme is ‘fantasy and the supernatural’ to coincide with our English curriculum paying tribute to characters ‘out of this world’.

@Lovelang76 @PetcheyAcademy Once I had modelled it, they were flying! Everyone had a different theme/ poem pairing and I told them that I was going to turn their different maps into a mini booklet for the class - shared accountability led to higher quality work!

Map structure:
-Theme in the centre
-Two carefully selected poems (we started the lesson by grouping them)
- 2× AO1 statements for each
- 4x quotes for each with analysis
- Comparison of writers' intentions

We need a Caribbean food court in like Peckham or Brixton or Croydon or Hackney. Where all the food is from the different regions of the Caribbean! That would be very dope! With weekly DJ guests playing the genres from across the region too. Bachata, Salsa, Ska and etc
