Have been an avid @godlywebsite user for design inspiration but just found out some of our work has been featured on there as well! So cool to see!

9/10 times, people buy your thing emotionally before they then convince their logical brain to actually give you money especially true of people who cling to the belief that they're "rational" this is a simple truth with massive downstream affects on strategy behind product design, marketing/comms, growth strategy, content production, etc. tell the right story, to the right person, in the right way, at the right time inspired by "the basics of branding for startups" by @kimmaicutler / @Initialized (worth a read!)

@0xCharlota 100% Agree! The ability to be contextually aware of the content they are designing around. When a designer is able to break apart information and dig deeper, that's where I have stumbled upon some stellar talent!

Basics: Typography, colour theory, understanding of gestalt principles, grid systems, layout and composition, attention to detail, and at least some knowledge of design and art history to understand and play with references. Truly outstanding visual designers I admire have mastered typography and colour theory, so they are comfortable breaking the rules. They are often great art directors and/or can illustrate or photograph. For brand design specifically, being strong in conceptual thinking and the ability to create brand visual systems is key.
