As I watched this my heart swelled with pride at having worn that uniform. It symbolises the trust and faith people repose in it - a faith that is never let down. Jai Hind, Jai Hind ki Sena

@Iyervval @AdityaRajKaul @RashmiDVS She's a Gen Z journo
Abhijit Iyer-Mitra@Iyervval

Looks like she’s has a medical cognitive condition or basic English comprehension issues. First she tells @AdityaRajKaul to not talk football when there’s a hunger strike on in India. When @RashmiDVS points out that by that metric she shouldn’t talk India & focus on her crown princesses’ criminal son, she responds “well I’ve already spoken about it”. I don’t know how she passed school or got a job - but it definitely wasn’t on merit. Maybe they have DEI in Norway for the cognitively challenged?

I have written about this. Awful things happen here in Norway too. Norway is not a perfect country. The people or the powerful are not perfect either. I never claimed that. What we do have is press freedom. This is probably one of the most covered trials of this century. He is facing four years of prison, which he has appealed. The case is still in the judicial system.

1/12 #ObituaryOfTheDay Seeing the above obit got me thinking. The #KargilWar was by now, nearly two months old. These men, and others like them who lived to tell their stories, must have been in atleast a couple of major attacks / skirmishes if not more, by now.

@SauravDassss Why are you pleading for support? The very fact that no one is turning up with you guys itself shows your protest has no merit in it. Looks like you already decided he will be dead? Something very fishy with you all sure!!

#SOS: To every Indian, Things are looking grimmer by the day. I don’t know how much longer Sonam sir can hold on. He keeps telling us he can. But those of us sitting beside him are terribly worried. This is a man who could have chosen a life of comfort and recognition. Instead, the recipient of a Ramon Magsaysay Award, an honour equivalent to the Nobel Prize, is putting his own life at risk for the future of our children, the young, and this country. He sits for those dead students murdered by a broken, corrupt education system. He is sacrificing his body and maybe his life for a greater cause. It makes me think what does it say about US that a son of India, who brought us such great honour before the world, has to STARVE himself to death simply to be heard by his OWN government? This is not my idea of India. This is not India! Somewhere along the way, we stopped feeling. We began to accept silence when there should have been outrage, indifference where there should have been compassion. We have become spectators to suffering. We have convinced ourselves that someone ELSE will speak, someone ELSE will act. I have no words left. I am sorry sir. We are failing you. We are failing you by allowing a nation to reach a point where a man of your integrity and stature must gamble with his own life just to make those in power LISTEN. We are failing you because we normalised arrogance over empathy. We normalised power over compassion. And we normalised indifference over conscience. July 20 is our last attempt to save you. If we cannot stand up now, history will not ask what Sonam Wangchuk did for India. It will ask what India did when Sonam Wangchuk needed her.

Red Fox by @LemonTreeHotels at Hyderabad is possibly the worst in terms of wifi connectivity. Been struggling ever since I checked in. Supposed to be a business hotel but how can one do business without connectivity

The average citizen is in total despair. The system is badly broken & exists to harass citizens, so bribes can be extracted. Even our laws are complex and interpretations even more chaotic. Worst of all is the neta-babu-milawrds-police nexus. HOPE DESPERATION DOESNt FUEL ANGER.
Rohit Agarwal 🇮🇳@ragarwal

Imagine what it would have taken to drive a citizen to this level of desperation - just for filing an FIR. Our system needs a serious overhaul

Brown Sepoy of the Day is “Karishma Mehrotra”.   🧵 She published a story claiming Prasar Bharati sent a fake WhatsApp about Pakistan's coup. Prasar Bharati publicly denied it. Demanded an apology. Washington Post quietly corrected it. No apology came.

@DikshitSmita Wasn't aware of the facts of the case. But I do know that the criminal justice / legal system in India is enough to drive an ordinary citizen to desperation.

Colonel Sir, if one of your men is denied a leave, would you justify his going to the COAS & abusing him stating that the system is so rotten that it needs an overhaul? We have a system of filing for revision. This fellow ideally had the legal right to move a revision before ADJ. Move HC post that if unsatisfied with decision. He opted for a short cut & had the temerity to not only create a ruckus in the court but also demean the majesty of the highest court in the land. Whenever such anarchy is celebrated, it signifies artificial engineering is being done to create dis satisfaction with a system instead of demanding systematic corrections.

British citizens of Pakistani origin killed those 52 innocent people in a series of suicide bombings. This is something that Sadiq Khan, another British citizen of Pakistani origin, missed in his tweet below. #JustSaying
Sadiq Khan@SadiqKhan

Today, I laid a wreath in Hyde Park to honour the 52 innocent people killed on 7 July 2005. We honour those injured, the families who carry the loss, and the heroic emergency responders who ran towards danger that day. London remembers. You will never be forgotten.

Award-Jeevi has proudly announced that Australia is to supply uranium to India. This has been made possible ONLY because of the United States-India Nuclear Cooperation Agreement that finally became law on October 8, 2008. It was Dr. Manmohan Singh’s meeting with President George Bush in July 2005 that had kickstarted the negotiations. The BJP had all along opposed this transformative accord both in Parliament and outside. The Congress creates turning points while the BJP specialises in U-turning points.

Just look at how dramatic and dishonest Abhijeet Dipke is at the CJP protest Dipke first created drama by pretending to fall at the police officer's feet. Then, the moment the officer merely touched him while trying to help him up, he immediately said, "Aap mujhe maar kyon rahe ho?" You can clearly see for yourself that the police officer did nothing to him, yet he was still playing the victim card. Now Dipke is demanding that these police officers be suspended. Share this video and show everyone that the police officer did nothing wrong.
