@gametime__jay @heimkun 1st year JJ played 22 games and had 12 games where he had zero points. Zach played 75 games. Had 4 30+ point games. 4 game + 20 points. Who rookie year was better? This isn’t a race. JJ greatly improved while year 2 Zach is struggling.
English

Nate McMillan had him sitting behind Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot and John Collins
Josh@LaflareTMC
Once again cannot thank Schlenk enough for gifting us Jalen Johnson
English

@Cparkernba Ppl are book marking this take. It’s that bad. Let’s see how the wizards and Ja’s new team look next year. Luka was traded JJJ was traded/ these teams don’t want to pay guys max…. so they salary dumped them. Acuff is special. This bandwagon against guards is a joke.
English

@Preet410_ Acuff is an awesome player. This is the best guard class that I can remember. Wanting players that don’t exist is madness. We are going to draft Zach 2.0 and you guys will cheer it on.
English

@gehrenbergdfs @EVFrenzy Utah is lying about players being hurt. There roster is light years better than the nets. Would Keyonte be efficient on the nets?
English

Cam Thomas isn’t good but many people thought he was because he was able to score a lot of points on low efficiency on a terrible team without anything else to his skill set. He isn’t an NBA rotation player and there should be less value put on high volume low efficiency scorers.
Billy Reinhardt@BillyReinhardt
Cam Thomas has essentially been phased out of Milwaukee’s rotation.
English

@gehrenbergdfs @EVFrenzy He’s still in the age range where he could show real improvement. I think it’s unfair to judge guys that are playing on tanking poorly built teams. Would he be better if he just shot hunted and avg’ed 12 ppg knowing he and MPJ were the only nba lvl scorer on the team?
English

@gehrenbergdfs @EVFrenzy It’s funny how you guys want to undervalue scorers. Cam started the year on a team that didn’t want him. How is a combo guard going to be efficient on the nets?! If funny you listed markkanen who struggled on a much better bulls team. Young players need stable teams.
English

@EVFrenzy Michael Porter Jr is one of the highest scorers in the league this year and one of the highest usage players. He was in the literal exact same situation as Thomas. I can name like a dozen more players too if I looked it up. (Markkanen and Keyonte George 2 more obvious ones).
English

@dlee4three Do you think DD will be playable in the playoffs? The hawks half court offense is still a joke and will be exposed in the play-in/playoffs. DD as a pg Dooms this team long-term. No one will guard him in the playoffs. He dosnt draw fouls or get to the line.
English

Tough to think of a skillset that offers an offense more versatility than a handler who’s an effective AND willing screener
Efficacy comes down to frame + physicality but not all primary/secondary handlers are wired to embrace rescreening (P5)
Constant motion = great offense
David Lee@dlee4three
Players who are on the ball for at least 20% of their time on the court and have 100+ PNR screening possessions: Nikola Jokic Giannis Antetokounmpo Alperen Sengun Amen Thompson Brandon Miller Jalen Johnson Dyson Daniels
English

@WorldWideWob The lottery was meant to give teams hope and maybe a star. not to make a mockery of competitive sports. You guys cry about Utah getting fined when the nba should have taken future picks from them. Just make the odds flat for all the traditional lottery teams.
English

And this right here, what just happened in Indiana, is why making an example of the Jazz was a short-sighted decision/slippery slope.
1) Zubac returns to action from extended time off, plays heavy 1H minutes. Looks good scoring 8 PTS (4-6 FG).
2) Nembhard drops 23 PTS (!) in the 1H in just 17 mins.
They both disappear at halftime, and dont play a single 2H second in what was a respectably close game for a majority of it.
Pacers (a team with losing incentive) lose.
Sound familiar?
The franchise comms team will likely issue an injury management explanation to avoid the eye of Secaucus Sauron/refute the imminent tanking allegations.
Is it possible both players got sore in the locker room/hurt in the first half? Sure, I guess.
The point here is that by fining the Jazz for conduct detrimental to the league, NOT (⬅️) a Player Participation Policy violation, your games are now going to be under the microscope in the event this type of starter rotation activity occurs again.
You can’t just fine one franchise and hang their reputation from a tree to scare the other citizens from replicating the same behavior.
That selective enforcement is what put you in the spotlight originally, because Jaren Jackson Jr./Lauri Markkanen ended up either getting surgery or having a legitimate hip injury keeping them out for the foreseeable future.
Nembhard/Zubac may end up experiencing something similar to JJJ/Markkanen, they may not, but the inconsistent enforcement WITHOUT knowing their personal medical records is reflective of a business that only steps in when the seat gets hot.
The Jazz ended up winning some of those games they were so highly scrutinized for.
The Pacers lost tonight.
This alone does not justify penalizing the Pacers, because Micah Potter was trying to win just as much as Brice Sensabaugh was for Utah.
Players dont tank.
If you’re not going to fine the Pacers for this tonight, then just give the Jazz governors their $500,000 back, because this hypocrisy is what’s damaging the league reputation more than the integrity of the game.

@Rickygreeneyze @BTRowland Ask an nba player if it matters for your career if you start or not. Everyone sees how non-starters are treated in the nba. Do you think naw would be here on 15 mill if he was a starter last year?!
English

@BTRowland I’d back your view. As long as you’re getting X amount of minutes, does it matter whether they’re coming off the bench or starting?
English

Very typical from this Hawks staff honestly.
They tend to want to leave guys in their usual roles, even if it means starting a lesser player.
(I am personally of the mind that starting lineups don't matter nearly as much as people seem to think)
Langston | ATL Hawks Dawg | (38-31)@Dawg4Hawks
@BTRowland Starting Kispert over Kuminga or Risacher??????
English

I dont understand
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Falcons are expected to pursue Tua Tagovailoa, per sources.
English

@andlankell DD as the starting pg will never win a single playoff series ever. Playoff lvl teams are going to play him off the court. He can’t shoot and his playmaking in half court is below starter lvl. He can’t shoot ft and dosnt get to the line. Hawks have to draft pg/sg.
English

@ATLLAEV NBA is walking down an unwise path. 1st mainstreaming gambling and now this. I don’t see how magic city night is going to be kid friendly or family friendly. I just hope ppl don’t go to this game to act a fool. They should cut the alcohol after the 1st quarter.
English

@Grant_Shirley4 This team is 10th in the east. The hornets have passed us. We traded the best player we have had in 30 years in a salary dump but let’s celebrate OO can make 3’s 🥳.
English

@REGGIES_WORLD If the hawks can’t pick a good player 1st overall why do you think they will do better with the 8th pick?
English

Lmao any player in this years lottery let alone top 8 are better prospects than Zacch. Maybe more.
Whatever player ATL drafts this year will be better than what Zacch was when he came in.
That Pelicans pick at worst will be 7th. Not even worried even a little bit 😂
Reggie Williams@RCWilliams88
Hawks fans should praying that Risascher works out as a player cause that Pels/Bucks pick is looking less promising by the day
English

@BTRowland Ayton is more of a 4 than a 5. He’s been miscast his whole career. I loved CC but ayton is much more flexible on both ends.
English

@BTRowland @Arcanus124 Worry about the Hawks who are a joke team now. There young players need to both play and learn and sometimes learning is plying off the bench with fewer minutes to focus on improving parts of there game in shorter runs. Hawks starting Zach will soon be over and he was the 1stpick
English

@Arcanus124 honestly applies to DJM somewhat too, just not as much as playing jordan over the kids lol
English

someone in the pelicans organization should google "sunk cost fallacy"
Jake Madison@NOLAJake
Derik Queen moves to the bench as Dejounte Murray starts in his return from injury. DeAndre Jordan also starting again
