Just tried to book an Indane gas cylinder refill on their website. Got this message saying my last cylinder was delivered on 25 Feb and I can't order again till late March.
Except I haven't ordered a new cylinder since early 2025!
Then I discovered clear fraud!

I repurchased the same stocks the next day, so the total loss including brokerage and taxes was ₹1,980.67.
And the loss from selling at such a low price can be utilized for tax harvesting.
Next time, when I sell these stocks, I just need to remember their original price and make sure to sell them at a higher price.

Don’t settle. Confront them — it’s their glitch, not your mistake. They’re legally and morally responsible for refunding the full loss, including the difference from your original buy price. Also, file a complaint with @SEBI_India . That’s the only way they'll be held accountable.

Got a call from @groww_cs yesterday. At first, they only offered to refund the price difference. But after I confronted them, they were forced to refund refund the full 1980.67 — price difference + brokerage + taxes. I made them return every single paisa.
The complaint system was fine until their customer support tried to fool me, saying I only paid rs 1530 extra. Nice try. I had exact figures and they got caught. Groww tried to scam me but failed but the sad part is not every groww user who incurred loss will be able to catch their fooling.
@SEBI_India should seriously fine them for this mess.

Yes but they first tried refunding just the price difference. I pushed back hard, made them return everything, including brokerage and taxes. They tried to fool me saying I only overpaid ₹1,530, but I had proof. Groww tried to scam me but failed. Most users won’t even notice.

As advised by your team, I repurchased the same stock in the same quantity today before 10 AM at the current market price.
- Amount received from auto-sell on 12 May: ₹1,20,343.30
- Amount spent on repurchase on 13 May: ₹1,22,323.97
- Excess amount spent: ₹1,980.67 I've attached

Definitely not the right approach. What about users who are on vacation or not checking their accounts regularly? If Groww also reimburses brokerage and taxes too, it might help with tax harvesting but you'd still need to remember the original stock price to actually earn profit from it in the future.
@rakesh_d3@_groww@groww_cs Register your complaint with SEBI SCORES, Watch YouTube to understand the process, SEBI Needs more and more complaints to take proper action. I have already filed. Requesting you to do the same.
@Divyans52615401@groww_cs In my case, it wasn't bought automatically. I was told by the Groww support team to repurchase the same stock in the same quantity at the current market price today before 10 and they will reimburse the extra balance.

Absolutely right. Groww has seriously screwed up. This isn’t a one-off glitch, it’s a systemic failure. People are already speaking out on X and YouTube, and if the pressure keeps building, they’ll be forced to refund fully even the taxes. I just feel bad for those on vacation or offline, they’ll return to unexpected losses. Totally unfair.

They’re smart enough to know that most people won’t bother checking the brokerage and tax section.
Exactly.... Why should we pay taxes & brokerage for their screw up? This is not compensation, it’s damage control at best. @groww_cs can't just dump the extra cost on users and walk away. We deserve a full refund including every single rupee lost, or this needs to be taken to @SEBI_India .
