Over the next few years, writing code is no longer going to be a bottleneck, reviewing code efficiently is going to be the biggest bottleneck most face.

I never taught my kid how to read. Why waste time? I instead gave him an unlimited subscription to audiobooks. He doesn't write either. There's no point in learning something that he can do with a Grammarly subscription. Even his iPhone writes everything for him! Art, History, and Math are all useless dinosaur concepts from another time. They were useful before, but you don't need them now that we have AI, Wikipedia, and calculators. I laugh every time I see people learning other languages. Do you understand you have a computer in your pocket that can speak every language? And of course, I’d never let my kid learn to code. I'd never bother with such a useless skill in the era of AI. Welcome to the all-inclusive resort of your future! Don't worry about a thing. We take all forms of payment and take care of everything! Kamal, especially with Rails 8, has made shipping side projects so satisfying 🤌 The dopamine hit of having an app live on the Internet five minutes after `rails new` is incredibly motivating.

Couple years ago you might remember I lost about 70 pounds and got in the best shape of my life. Had another baby + a bunch of stress and fell back into some bad habits and have gained about 30 pounds back since then. Still training consistently but the diet has been 👎🏻 Embarrassing post but the public accountability helps me — today committing to getting back on track, starting with a commitment to no sugar or fried/fast food, period. Weight now is 215, goal is to get back to 185. Will document progress here 📉

I now feel like my entire understanding of Ruby threads is entirely wrong.

@ahmetb Cloudflare warp has been such a breath of fresh air. I had to remind myself what it's called because I never have to think about it.

Okta and PaloAlto GlobalProtect VPN might be some of the biggest shackles engineers in Silicon Valley carry around their feet every day. How are they holding our IT departments hostage that we can't do better than this?

@hopsoft Melamine foam (magic erasers) work great for this too! I'm pretty sure my vacuum's app will even tell me to use one if it detects an issue charging

Protip: If you have a robot vacuum that won't charge, take a fine grit sand paper and sand/polish the connection points on both the vacuum and charger. You'll be back in business.

Parent mode in games could also be "don't make me download a 40GB update over the next hour instead of playing the game with the precious 30 minutes of free time that dropped in my lap"

Every game should have a "parent mode" where 1) I'm able to get TL;DRs for all dialog and cutscenes 2) When I inevitably can't play for 6 mo to 2 years give me a button to remind me what the heck is going on, where am I, what am I doing, and probably a quick tutorial on controls

After 10 years, @snipd_app was able to pull me away from my former favorite podcast app. I just discovered yet another cool feature: linking me to a book referenced in a snip 🤯

@ramimassoud @snipd_app Yeah, it's wild. I'm back on it. I missed all the snips and extra info. And books is a big upgrade. PocketCasts still has a place in my heart though. Car Play and audio boost ❤️
