THIRD PLACE! ...and so well deserved! Perseverance paid off today for our Greenpower Team, who worked together to overcome a series of obstacles including a car that wouldn't start & the chain fell off five times! The team did so well in the second heat, they still took 3rd!

@MisterCavey I tell my middles that there is nothing 'here' (gesturing at everything at school) that is worth your stress and health. We also have the classroom motto of "calm, cool, & collected"

Hi teacher friends, I'm trying to write a blog post as a letter of concern for middle schoolers who are excelling at school but still experiencing crippling anxiety. "Stop Taking School So Seriously" sounds too harsh as a title. How would you put this?

…it’s now been normalized in ways that are really quite breathtaking.” We have to reject racism in all its forms & wherever it exists & it starts right here w/calling out politicians, media personalities & even former Presidents who pander to the extremes of their political base

It has been a full week since the overtly racist rant of @TTuberville in Nevada and what have we heard from him or GOP leaders across the country? Crickets. Nothing but crickets. This is nothing new for extremists in the GOP. Sadly such racist tropes…. washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/…

For non-teaching friends who don't understand why teaching is so stressful, imagine this scenario. You have to run meetings all day long. You get virtually no time to prepare for the meetings. During the meetings, there are 30 people in the room who are forced to be there. 2/
