ZenJournal v5 is finally on the App Store. It has been 8 years in the making — including countless failed attempts to rewrite it with the latest SwiftUI, and the unforgivable indie-dev sin of making yet another journaling app. But this is the one app I keep returning to.

The biggest bullshit move by DHS in its history. So everyone on a O1 or H1B visa would have to stop working legally in the US, go back to their country and wait for years of backlog? This includes top scientists in our universities, founders of billion dollar companies (at least 3 just in our portfolio would be affected by the way). And if we look at individual countries it becomes even more bs. Indians would have to wait decades. Russians don’t have anywhere to go (there is no US embassy in Russia, hello?). This is the worst imaginable way to disrupt important work for the country and pretend you’re fighting some loophole.

Sounds inevitable. Not sure about the west vs east angle, and even within china there are dissidents, its like X and reddit in optimistic vs pessimistic meter. @randomor @JagCesar I made ScriptureAI web doing this exact thing, my main “user” that wanted it on android wasn’t happy because she didn’t have an Apple account, but I don’t have time to do android dev nor do I care too much so it works alright but the users will still bottleneck it

Apple CloudKit team, take note. Nothing salacious, just years of dev-ex neglect and lack of bug fixes driving away another developer from CloudKit despite it being nearly almost always free.

@JagCesar Thanks for sharing. I may try that route at some point, as I don’t want to ever host any data myself. CloudKit can be so much more if only Apple spent more time investing in it.
