@SanjayK27310177 @PTI_News He's won the World Cup and yet humble enough to admit he cannot comment on T20 cricket. Who are you ? And your tweet doesn't pass basic English grammar test.

VIDEO | Delhi: Former India captain Kapil Dev refrained from offering an assessment of young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and the growing trend of 250-plus totals in T20 cricket, saying he is not best placed to comment on the modern game. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has dazed the cricketing world with his batting blitz and fearless approach, taking on world-class bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins from the outset. Speaking on the sidelines of the Mahajan Imaging Lab Inauguration event here, the 1983 World Cup-winning skipper said he follows the sport as a television viewer and believes it would be unfair to analyse players or evolving formats without being closely involved. “I haven't seen that. I am just like you guys. I watch cricket at home on TV, and it would not be fair for me to pass any comments. I get information from whatever you write or show. The ones like Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, or Harsha Bhogle are the ones who cover cricket on the ground and are the best people to take opinions from. I don’t know much about it," he said.

@MaliniP China has been squatting on our mainland for 6 yrs and nothing has been done about it. Will we do anything if china encroached this island ? Even a movie script is being changed so as to not antagonise china. Building infra is of no use if there's no will to use it

“If India bows to domestic PR campaigns and leaves its easternmost flank demilitarized and underdeveloped, we are effectively handing over the Indian Ocean to adversarial naval powers”. Read this timely thread explaining the several imperatives of developing Nicobar Island as a strategic maritime hub for India. The naysayers should not be allowed to block this game changing project!

Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy. Not might. Not could. Will — if nothing changes. The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled. The conclusion is one sentence. "At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand." An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody. Here is how you get there. A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself. Because the workers who were fired were also customers. When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs — which means automating more workers — which means less spending — which means more falling demand — which means more automation. The loop has no natural exit. The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements. Every single one failed in the model. The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax — a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger. No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it. Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion." Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem. Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it. Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place. Source: Falk & Tsoukalas · Wharton School + Boston University · arxiv.org/pdf/2603.20617

I have always maintained that Swamy is a sleazy man given to making wild fictional allegations the way he made about the Gandhi fam (which was lapped up by the BJP) Kishwar is a bigot who has no consistency. Even with all of that why was Irani (who lied on affidavits abt being a graduate) made HRD minister by Modi? Takeout the sleaze & slander the Q is valid. Why are terrible non performers part of the Modi cabinet? Why is a 80 plus man NSA?

First, at least understand basic economics before jumping into conclusions. You don’t need a finance degree — a simple Google search on how countries manage trade deficits, currency pressure, and fuel pricing will do. Fuel prices are not just about crude rates — they involve taxes, fiscal balancing, currency movement, and long-term economic stability. Cherry-picking one data point and building a narrative around it is not analysis — it’s just ranting with half knowledge. If you really want to critique, at least come prepared with facts, not fragments.

When global oil prices fell sharply to $55-$60 Indian govt & oil companies refused to reduce domestic fuel prices and kept collecting more from Indians. Now global oil prices are hiked in a crisis & the higher costs are slowly being passed on to consumers block by block. Maybe we wait for one more cringy propaganda movie to justify this masterstroke too.
Hindustan Times@htTweets

State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised the price of industrial diesel and premium petrol on Friday as surging global crude prices — driven by the West Asia conflict — piled pressure on retail margins. In a live experiment, to prove a point to me, A friend of mine, a print model and an actor, went to a perfume outlet in Emporio mall in Vasant Kunj in an oversized salwar kurta. The staff looked down upon her and didn’t even let her sample the perfumes. Same day she visited RADO in Ambience Mall Gurgaon asking about a particular watch for her dad. They said it’s not available. The next day she wore a Gucci dress with Bling Michael Kors glasses and fiery red Jimmy Choo’s & a LV handbag to both the outlets. At emporio, the perfume shop staff gifted her a sample bottle and at RADO the same watch became available and was shown. This is what Delhi is, she said.

Always shocked by how snobbish sales people at so called designer stores in Delhi malls are . At @dior at Promenade Vasant Kunj, the salesman was obnoxious & rude. At nearby @ScentidoIndia they were aggressive & patronising. What makes Indians who work for foreign brands feel so superior to ordinary people? It disgraces the brands themselves & suggests that this is how they feel about Indians.
