@BenH347393 @stephen_richer @jaredpolis She’s actually in jail because of her actions and her actions alone. The judge reiterated that at sentencing. As usual maga types don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions.

@stephen_richer @jaredpolis They took her doubts about an election to enhance trying to uncover election fraud into a 9 year sentence - purely because of her opinions about the 2020 election. The Judge said as much.

If you'd told me, ex-ante, that Tina Peters got 4.5 years, I would have said, "OK. I don't know much about sentencing in Colorado, but seems fine." But @jaredpolis 's defensive commentary about how Peters's crime had "zero to do with the Presidential election" is asinine. Yes, the criminal act was for test during 2021. But what the heck do you think motivated it? And why the interest in tabulation equipment? And what do you think she and her merry band were trying to achieve? Of course the conspiracies regarding tabulation equipment used in the 2020 presidential election motivated the unlawful act. And of course their goal was to cast doubt on the 2020 election. To say otherwise is obtuse beyond measure.

@newstart_2024 By the way Huberman’s full medical title is…Andrew Huberman. They could have on an actual medical person to talk about this stuff instead of a pretend ‘expert’, but I guess what fun would that be.

Andrew Huberman got real about Ozempic on Real Time with Bill Maher. It’s incredibly effective — spikes GLP-1 a thousandfold, kills appetite, and even cuts alcohol and sugar cravings. But here’s the problem: it’s expensive, and most people gain all the weight back the moment they stop… unless they’re lifting weights to protect their muscle and metabolism. Huberman’s take: Great tool for people who won’t exercise yet, but the real foundation is still sunlight, sleep, resistance training, and eating real food. Most people just don’t want to do the work. These drugs can help short-term, but they don’t replace the habits that actually keep the weight off long-term. This was a refreshing dose of honesty in a world full of quick-fix hype. Sustainable change still requires effort. Do you think drugs like Ozempic are a smart shortcut or just delaying the real work?

@SlimBiggins123 @TheOmniLiberal He wasn't right about a single thing. Further, he lied about his own rigorous 'analysis' of the data. He did no such thing. He only analyzed the politics, and then took a position designed to get him on camera and sell books and/or podcasts. He's a grifter, not a clinician.

Girl's stuck on the side of the road with her boyfriend-he can't fix the car. This guy pulls up, checks it, and takes over. No talking. He takes off his 501s, uses them to tie the cars together, and tows it like it's nothing. 1989 cool, with just enough heat.

Can't stop thinking about Elon Musk, the wealthiest man alive worth $828 billion, spending $290 million to elect Trump, becoming $563 billion richer since Trump was elected and ending humanitarian aid that will lead to the deaths of 4.5 million of the poorest kids on the planet.

🇺🇸 Trump’s sleep schedule is no joke… Dude barely sleeps on long-haul flights, wakes up the entire Air Force One crew at 3am because he wants to keep talking, and runs at a pace that leaves staff and control rooms absolutely wrecked. While the rest of us need 8 hours or we become useless goblins, Trump treats sleep like it’s for weaklings. Could you survive even 48 hours on Trump time? Or would you be curled up in the corner begging for a nap by lunch?😂☕️

Elon Musk just defended America better than every politician in Washington combined. Musk: “After World War 2, the US could have basically taken over the world and any country. Like we got nukes, nobody else got nukes. We don’t even have to lose soldiers. Which country do you want?” One nation on earth held a weapon nobody else had. Total dominance. Zero competition. No risk of retaliation. Every empire in history that held that kind of advantage used it. Rome. The Mongols. The British. The Ottomans. They conquered until they collapsed. America had a bigger advantage than all of them combined. And it rebuilt the countries it just defeated. Musk: “The United States actually helped rebuild countries. So it helped rebuild Europe, it helped rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.” Almost unprecedented? It had never happened before. Not once in 5,000 years of recorded history. The Marshall Plan wasn’t foreign aid. It was the most radical act of restraint any superpower ever committed. America turned its enemies into allies. Turned rubble into economies. Turned surrender into partnership. Germany went from ashes to the economic engine of Europe in a generation. Japan went from unconditional surrender to the third largest economy on earth. Three years after the war, America was flying food into Berlin. A city in the heart of the nation that just tried to destroy it. That’s not policy. That’s a civilization deciding what it is at the exact moment it has the power to be anything. You’re being told a story right now. That America is the villain of history. You hear it everywhere. Media. Universities. Social platforms. Musk: “There’s always like, well America’s done bad things. Well of course America’s done bad things, but one needs to look at the whole track record.” Every nation on earth has dark chapters. Every single one. The difference is what a country does when nobody can stop it. And when nobody could stop America, it fed its enemies and rebuilt their cities. Musk: “The history of China suggests that China is not acquisitive. Meaning they’re not going to go out and invade a whole bunch of countries.” Probably right. China has historically built walls, not fleets. But the real question isn’t about borders anymore. We’re approaching a moment that mirrors 1945 in ways nobody has fully processed yet. AI is going to give a handful of people a power advantage that makes nuclear monopoly look quaint. If someone is going to hold that kind of power, who do you want it to be? The country that conquered when it could? Or the one that rebuilt when it didn’t have to? Every alliance. Every trade route. Every economy. Billions lifted out of poverty. All of it traces back to one act of restraint that had never been done before. And carries no guarantee of being repeated. The most powerful thing America ever did wasn’t building the bomb. It was what it didn’t do after.

I took my 15 year old son to see the 20th anniversary re-release of Revenge of the Sith and despite the Sequel Trilogy being the first Star Wars he saw on the big screen he's always preferred the prequels. But as we were driving to the theater I told him that this movie has been mocked and memed to death for literally decades at this point, and to maybe brace himself for the fact that the audience might heckle it from beginning to end. But that did not happen AT ALL. From the moment Hayden Christensen walked on screen to do that little intro where he welcomed the audience, thanked everyone for coming and closed with "now this is where the fun begins" the entire sold out crowd just started cheering. I thought wait a second, is everyone here a legit fan? That answer was a resounding yes. Nobody mocked the film, no one laughed at it (and I totally expected it for scenes like the "no I'm so in love with you" bit on the balcony) and no one was being disruptive by quoting it. Heck I even stifled a chuckle at Ki Adi Mundi's "but what of the droid attack on the wookiees??" just because I've seen that line put to good use in a wide array of memes. But everyone was totally locked in...until Obi-Wan made his presence known to General Grievous and said "Hello there." Oh man, like half a dozen people practically shouted that line and the entire auditorium just went nuts with cheers. It was impossible not to get swept up in the love this movie was getting. I then thought okay if people quoted hello there then they'll definitely quote "you were the chosen one!" but to my surprise no one did. When that scene came, the audience was dead quiet, totally caught up in the emotion of the moment. It was so refreshing to watch something that was so utterly, unapologetically sincere. The whole thing was equal parts poignant and exhilarating, easily the best experience I've ever had watching that movie.
Kevin Lamb@KevinLamb74

Something that really struck me while watching Revenge of the Sith in the theater again last year was just much better it plays as a 20 year old film than a contemporary one. I felt like I was attending a special screening of a film like The Wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind, where the over-acting and melodramatic dialogue was just part of the experience that in no way was to the film's detriment. The Shakespearean themes, totally devoid of the irony and sarcasm that plagues so many modern movies, were quite impactful and the visuals, cinematography and especially the score were still absolutely amazing. Probably the best experience I had at the theater all year.

Hey you awesome Canucks... Dunkin' Donuts is coming back to Canada. A Canadian company just made a huge deal to open hundreds of Dunkin' shops here. So, are you patriotic and you're going to stick with your Tim Hortons (regardless of franchise ownership) over an American multinational coffee and donut company? Or are you going to be switching to Dunkin'? #DunkinVsTimHortons #PickYourSide 🇨🇦
