People naturally have no intuition for what it takes to get an organization of people to materially and durably change their behavior. I rolled out something a few years back that was a great success and a senior leader said to me “you’re lucky people just listen to you.” I calculated the trough number of conversations and communications I had to roll out the change and it was about a thousand over the course of a year. For comparison, in my experience the average person gives up on an idea after about 2 attempts.

After almost 7 years, I am no longer with Tinybird. I spent that time building the company from the initial versions of the product to a platform processing trillions of rows and petabytes of data on ClickHouse. Scaling the tech was a great challenge, but building and working with the engineering team behind it was the best part.
