if the cost of software engineering is collapsing before our eyes and the u.s. frontier labs are the tip of the spear of this fundamental transformation, which to be clear I do believe, then I would love to see Claude on the Mac become an actual Mac app, compliant with the conventions of macOS, as opposed to a dinky inefficient electron app. Indeed, cross-platform app development platforms should disappear altogether in a world where software engineering costs are collapsing, shouldn't they?

It shouldn’t be hard to encode meta data on the pixels themselves with some stenography about the origin and tool of all image and videos. If it comes from a camera, sign it with the manufacturer’s key. If it’s AI, sign it. Any edits should be signed over the previous hash. A chain of custody of image generation - and if it’s absent, put a warning about it.

The law should be simple: all AI generated human figures must have purple or yellow eyes. There should never be doubt about whether one is looking at AI or a human actor. This layer of cognitive safety costs nothing.
