@AlecStapp I am in this data (top 100 in 2007) and thrilled to be in the 🇺🇸, but I think the numbers are much lower in recent years since it is very hard for Indians to stay here (get the green card). Easier to migrate elsewhere or stay back in India where opportunities are much better now.

While I completely agree with this sentence, fortunately the software engineering world is not just coding. In our research (ssrn.com/abstract=46846…) we show, LLMs may not be good at solving software engineering tasks needing extrapolative thinking (e.g., product architecture).

1/ Models will be extraordinarily good at coding, very soon. Research labs are investing more in coding + reasoning improvements than any other domain for the next model generation. Their efforts will bear fruit.
