@ValaAfshar Japanese and South Koreans are very empathetic. Japanese don't hate Americans inspite of Nuclear Holocaust. All other world citizens so much to learn from this culture.

The people of Japan have a deeper appreciation of empathy (共感). Not only do they empathize with you, but they also help (ヘルプ ) you before you realize you need it. The concept of empathy and consideration in Japanese culture is omoiyari (思いやり).

“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race. A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish. Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory. A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?" Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal? What would my Mom think of that?” Values are transmitted from generation to generation. What values are we teaching our children? Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to WIN.” Calltoactivism

I have worked & stayed in different countries in my 33 years of working life. Travelled to myriad other countries for leisure. No where I've faced poorer work culture than my own country. It's frustrating to do business in fast, productive & efficient way. Most people in private sector are demotivated or over smart; many pretend to know everything w/o knowing the basics of their jobs & oblivious of the critical and fundamental difference between intelligence and cleverness. Many think being clever is a substitute of being intelligent & diligent. In Public sector, problem of accountability is completely absent. Bureaucracy, in their functioning & attitude still live in an era of the past. Their attitude has always been that of the rulers & their subjects not the 'civil servants' & citizens. A great nation is built on great work ethics and mutual trust in impersonal transactions. Physical infrastructure is brick & mortar of development but the glue that binds a great nation is built on great work ethics & mutual trust among strangers! Our political, social & business leaders failed us miserably in this area for last many generations. Nepotism, dynastic politics, corruption, apathy, lack of basic civic amenities bear testimony to this.

The issue is not stopping pension. Every govt employee gets pension. All those recruited before 2004 get index linked pension (OPS) from the exchequer; the pension is unfunded as no provision is made during the service of the employee, and the burden is shifted to next generation. All recruits after 2004 will get pension too; the new pension (NPS) is as per global norms, and is fully funded during the service of the employee so that there is no burden on future tax payers. Please note: only govt employees have such pension facility. The employees are recruited on the basis of contributory NPS. Most private sector employees get no pension. Employees must get fair compensation for their work. But 97% of the people cannot pay exorbitant and ever increasing sums from tax money for services rendered to earlier generation. Reverting to OPS is an act of political cowardice at the cost of 97% population, will bankrupt govt's, and will mar the growth and economic prospects of the next generation. 90% unorganised poor cannot be sacrificed for the benifit of a small, powerful, organised section of govt employees. The most vital function of politics is to withstand the pressures from vocal minorities who understand their self interest and pressurise weak and short-sighted parties and govt, and protect the weak and voiceless majority of people who do not understand their self interest. It is especially difficult in a country with illiteracy and mass poverty.

@JP_LOKSATTA You demand for cancellation of pension payments to all the employees including IAS officers , it is a more saving to our exchequer . When a person served for 30 to 35 years when he is asking for leading a decent life

There’s so much hateful garbage about Pakistan in the Indian media. Just want to say I’m rooting for Pakistanis to pull through this #coronavirus crisis. Admire the many brave doctors, medical personnel and others working heroically against the odds. Please RT if you agree.
