@CoreyWriting To make SF worth living in long term you need a car so that you can get out of the city and explore northern California. BART is terrible and doesn’t cut it. There was a stat floating around somewhere about how most people who live in SF own a car.

The hype of the sunbelt cities fades away after you live there and realize they actually suck without having to drive everywhere. Car dependent cities are terrible. SF and NYC are awesome because of the walkability.

DNA is really so crazy. Have y’all heard that story about the woman who had a baby with her husband, but when he got a DNA test, it said he wasn’t the father? The mother insisted he was the dad, so they repeated the test multiple times, and it kept saying the same thing. It later came out that, based on the DNA results, he wasn’t the father… but the uncle of the child. Which made no sense because he was an only child. After more extensive testing, they discovered the husband was actually a chimera, meaning he had absorbed his twin in the womb and carried two sets of DNA. So basically… the baby was biologically his twin brother’s child, even though he was the one who fathered it.

@based_coded Very bizarre experience for me was learning how many people steal. Just straight up steal from whole foods and big stores. Then say they are “fighting the power” and “jeff bezos doesn’t need it”. Start casually asking about it. And all of them make over 6 figures.

Perhaps I’m naive, but before moving to San Francisco I had never met such a large cohort of people that just straight lie all the time and are comfortable with it. I think this is a big city thing and not SF specifically.

Harry potter movie had $125million budget, and grossed over $1billion. Each episode of this new show costs over $100million. Let’s say 10 episodes to a season: Is this series going to be 10 times better? Why did they even do this? Seems financially irresponsible.

Okay hear me out- we do multiple versions of the same movie, same script, but swap out the cast. One cast is all black, another all white, another all-little people(like Terror of Tiny Town). Could AI do this? Hmmmmmm

Cancelled my premium @Spotify after a frustrating customer support chat. There was no acknowledgement of my frustration, and no attempt to keep me as a customer. Been paying for over 10years. Spotify leadership, i’d look into this. Would’ve taken very little for me to stay.

And yes I know on the profile account, it tells me I have a limited amount of listening hours. But that isn’t the point- it says “included in premium”! If i buy a sancdwich and with “drink included”-would I expect to only drink half of my drink?

Background - an audiobook I was listening to was labeled as “included in premium”, but that felt misleading because only 15 hours/month of listening (of any audiobook) is included in premium. I couldn’t listen to the whole book. It is “included” but I can’t listen anymore?

NEW: The LAPD is setting up drivers by having someone walk across the street in an "unmarked crosswalk" so they can then give tickets to people who don't stop. "Recently, LAPD Van Nuys division conducted a Pedestrian Enforcement Taskforce," they shared online.
