Sweeping changes are coming for the U.S. Forest Service, which manages roughly a third of America’s public land. The agency announced a dramatic overhaul of cuts, closures and consolidation. That’s on top of the Trump administration's latest budget request that seeks to slash billions of dollars. But some worry it could undermine the agency's mission.
@WmBrangham reports.
Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars:
I'm a history buff and I know a lot about this White House thing and everything. Literally, he's gonna go down as maybe the best president ever. I love this guy.
“So, we are still at war with Iran?” @margbrennan asks top White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett, who says the U.S. blockade on the Strait of Hormuz remains in place.
“I don’t know what the definition of war is when we’re not shooting, and we’re negotiating, and they’re under a lot of pressure,” Hassett replies.
@FaceTheNation What
What a load of bullshit. There’s no temporary spike. These prices are gonna be here for a while and the tax cuts. Don’t do nearly what he thinks they do or claims they do. I should say not even close and the other 250 million Americans don’t make tips or get paid overtime.
When asked about a Bank of America report that found the spike in gas prices has cost consumers $19 billion and cut tax returns by nearly half, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett says “that analysis is incorrect.”
“Think about it this way: 153 million people have filed taxes already, and the average refund is $3,600,” he says. “53 million people have benefited from no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on social security…Real incomes are growing, and real incomes, when they adjust for inflation, include the price of energy.”
The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.
@Acyn “Dave Davis, Spirit’s President and Chief Executive Officer, cited “the sudden and sustained rise in fuel prices in recent weeks” as the reason for the company’s closure.”
Duffy and Bessent insist the failure had nothing to do with Trump’s’ unnecessary war. Sure, guys. Sure.
Q: "Federal tax return is up by more than 11%...do you believe that this is evidence that the 'big beautiful' tax cuts you signed into law are working?"
President Trump: "People are shocked by how much money they're making, they can't believe the refunds that they're making…"
I’ve noticed on X (Twitter) that people like and repost cleavage or nude photos, but they don’t do the same for a decent, modest girl’s photo. Is that really true??
