A Vietnam vet said I don’t know what I’m talking about… because I said the AR-15 is NOT more powerful than the M4. Let that sink in. I responded to a veteran who made the claim that the AR-15 is more powerful than the standard military issue M4. Then another vet came behind him and basically said I’m the one who doesn’t know guns. Here’s the problem: Respect for your service and being factually right are not automatically the same thing. The modern civilian AR-15 is semi-auto only. The M4 can do more. Same basic platform. Same round. So how exactly is the civilian rifle somehow “more powerful”? It isn’t. And this is exactly how bad gun arguments spread — people hear confidence, emotion, and credentials… and assume that means the facts are solid. So I want to hear from y’all: Should veteran status protect somebody from criticism when they’re wrong about guns? If I went to purchase a transferable M16 and someone handed me a non Colt AR15 with select fire I won't think i am getting an M16... I get its from ar15 line though.

@raydon02 @MrColionNoir It was not. Again it’s a lack of understanding of what an M4 is…. I have an m16 roll marked select fire lower, if I put an upper with a 14.5 inch barrel on it I now have an M4. All the M4 is, is a designation by the military. All ar15s

@raydon02 @MrColionNoir You can own an M4, I own one straight from colt. It’s semi auto only. I also own an M16 that is a transferable.
