@mattlyon @InsideChinaAuto What about heat soak? While it reflects UV/IR the glass itself gets hot in the sun and radiates heat. I would guess it still happens even in the Polestar.

@InsideChinaAuto Solar attenuated glass is a must have. How do car makers forget this? I've never had a problem in the Polestar 2, 4 or BMW iX1 we have.

@philipcurryo @tadasgedgaudas But in Europe you can actually live, be healthy and not grind like a madman. Walkable cities, nature, swimming in the lakes, tasty and healthy food. Lithuania is one of the best with insane nature in the capital city.

And if you don't believe it's the same salary in the rest of EU. Here are stats from Lovable, #1 AI company in EU right now, competing with Replit and other US companies. 6k euros/month 30% tax You bring home 4,200 Same as in Lithuania for a Senior engineering role. Crazy. I think Lithuanians are even overpaid lol because rent is so much cheaper and car insurance too (you don't need to drive a Toyota here)

This is the salary of senior engineers in Lithuania. Similar to the rest of Europe. Not worth IMO working in a company right now. Can make more money building your own SaaS/App. US is another story - there it's not worth indiehacking and better join a company for $10-20k/month

🔋 The EU will require manufacturers to make all smartphones with replaceable batteries New devices must allow users to replace the battery themselves — without repair shops or special tools. The rule aims to reduce e-waste and make devices easier to repair. Manufacturers will have to redesign devices: batteries can’t be glued in, and spare parts must be available for at least 5 years.

Thank you @tim_cook. A college dropout, blue collar small business owner from a lower middle class background became a millionaire by investing in and holding $AAPL for 21 years. Life-changing would be an understatement.

Do not fall for those stupid things EU does Adhesive are used mainly for engineering and design reasons that prioritize thinness, waterproofing, durability, and maximum battery life over easy user repair And because of EU there will be absolutely stuck at type c that means no innovation on that end for sometime now

Europe makes a lot of stupid decisions, but the USB-C and now replaceable battery regulations are actually a good idea. You shouldn't have to pry open adhesive on your phone and worry about breaking glass to replace a battery. Nokia got this right 26 years ago.

🇪🇺| Europe will require all mobile phones to be sold with user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries starting 2027. The regulation demands the availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence. As per the USB-C ruling, Europe is a giant that can change markets to put European consumers’ needs first.
